External Hard Drive [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
Last Christmas I got an external hard drive from my wife to back up some of my more important files. It's like 30 gigabytes, but I really don't need that much. Probably 2GB would suffice...but external hard drives only come in big sizes. Plus, even on sale this one was over $50. Compare that to an online site like IDrive-E Online Backup who offer 2GB online storage for free!!! That's $0 per month! They do also have an unlimited space option for only $4.95 per month. That's infinity gigabytes per dollar!

My slacking... [-]
I'm really sorry I've been slacking lately. It's been a ridiculously busy time in my personal life. My wife and I have been forced to move from one apartment to another one an hour away. Meanwhile, we are trying to search for a new home two states away. All along, for some reason February and March are the busiest months on the school calendar and I have a PRAXIS exam I should be studying for (the standardized test of teachers). Unfortunately, this has coincided with a rough patch for this site. Stay tuned for Bestest Blogs Thursday and Friday, followed by a nice healthy update this weekend and a bit more detail with what's been going on, both with this site and in my life!

Lasik [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
I recently wrote about USAeyes.org and now they are in a magazine article! US News and World Report recently did a covet story on Lasik eye surgery. US News and World Report quotes Glenn Hagele (founder and Executive Director of the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance) about the importance of selecting a surgeon when considering Lasik eye surgery. Hagele says that, "No amount of technology can make up for an inferior surgeon." USAeyes.org publishes the "50 Tough Questions For Your Lasik Doctor." A sure fire questionnaire to help determine the quality of your doctor. They also have a large database of certified Lasik surgeons that can be trusted.

Sarge Charlie
...a review by Skittles!

The Bestest Blog Of The Day award goes to a blog that is long overdue in receiving it.. Sarge Charlie!!!

From the beginning of Sarge's addiction blog, he has been mainly focused on the military and his love of country. It's easy to see why when you read this post he wrote about how he learned sacrifice and respect after his father joined the Navy. A little further into his blog he urges us all to Find A Soldier In Uniform To Say Thanks.

Another good place to learn a little more about Sarge is to read this post he did to answer his grandson's homework questions. He's not afraid to voice his opinions either as you'll see when you read Forever Stupid.

Sarge enjoys a good game of poker and going on cruises, although this is one from 2004. (Not the one you might be more familiar with.) He's very devoted to his wife and shows it in Bee My Valentine.

I encourage you to pay Sarge a visit. Tell him Skittles and The Bestest Blog Of All-Time sent you.

Home Loan [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
FINANCE FINALLY MADE EASY Finance Company: Facilitating all walks Getting a home loan has never been so easy. Start Finance offers a no fuss alternative to buying a new home and buying it fast. Whether you have bad credit rating, are self employed, or earn a minimum wage Start Finance offers a range of home loan solutions catered to suit you. Start Finance operates on the mantra that no matter who you are or whatever financial situation you’re tied to, you’re eligible for a home loan irrespective of what target market you fall into, finally a no strings attached solution to finance. So what’s the big deal anyway, isn’t this just another one of the many finance companies that locks you into a contract and hits you with high interest rates in the future? Well that’s exactly what excludes Start Finance from its competitors. Being a boutique lender Start Finance can afford to offer the lowest rates in comparison to any of its competitors not to mention lending up to 105% finance up front. The company is located in Melbourne, but they service the whole of Australia. In addition, the majority of Start Finance’s home loan specialists have an average of fifteen years lending experience, so you can feel one hundred per cent at ease investing your time and money with the company. “To be honest I was a little hesitant initially with Start Finance being a new company and all, but after I had my first consultation, I felt completely at ease. The consultants are really lovely and so helpful, and don’t bombard you with a heap of legal jargon, which is also a bonus.” (Sharon Martin, 26, first home buyer). In essence as seen on TV and heard on radio both series of “Robbo” advertisements constitute that you don’t have to fit the mould to apply and get approved for a Start Home loan. Take Robbo for example, who’s your stereotypical, self-employed Aussie male, who after 28 years of living under his parent’s roof has finally made a concerned effort to move out of home. The character may only be fictional, but the reality of this matter is that Robbo represents a a large percentage of the population which has for years been virtually undesirable to the big banks. Robbo is the embodiment of those individuals having bad-credit ratings and low-incomes and what finance companies deem as the un-touchable’s. Start finance conveys the message that regardless who you are, or what you do. Start will help find the right home loan tailored to suit you and your needs. C’mon if Robbo can get a loan, then so can you.

PayPerPost Rumor [PPP] [-]
PayPerPost never goes long without some big announcement. This is the life of an up and coming web company. Segmentation rocked the Postie world just a few weeks ago and there is already something new brewing for the near future. It's a well known fact that there is a big announcement coming, but Pay Per Post has been pretty tight lipped about it.

But, I heard a rumor on the Pay Per Post boards yesterday that I think HAS to be true. It would be big, it would benefit everyone involved, and I think it would be fun.

What I'm talking about is product reviews. Up until now, Pay Per Post has dealt mostly with bloggers doing reviews of other websites. However, it is very common in the advertising world for people to be paid to review actual products. The great part of this is that the participants are usually provided with the product to try and to keep! Imagine being paid to review something like the new Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner, and receiving the vacuum cleaner itself as payment. Well, duh, how else could you review it?

I hope this rumor comes true. It would be a lot of fun to review things like that. I would definitely be very gung ho about joining in to this new advertising fad!

Weekend Updates? [-]
You may have noticed that I haven't mentioned this weekend's updates yet. Well, I was REALLY busy with the improv show yesterday (which went great by the way, I'll see if I can get some video).

At this point, I am banking on not having to teach tomorrow and being able to do them then. If we get half of what the forecast is calling for, we'll definitely have the day off. If not, then I'll try and get them done tomorrow anyway after school!

The Ultimate Gift [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement ... scroll down for more posts...
No, this post isn't a very, very, very early Christmas gift idea post. It's about a new upcoming movie! The reason I really wanted to post about this is because the movie features Abigail Breslin from "Little Miss Sunshine." That was an amazing movie and I hope she wins the Academy award. And I'm sure she'll help make this movie amazing as well. Based on a book of the same name, "The Ultimate Gift" was a cult sensation and sparked a movie. Its message is simple: "The only way you can truly get more out of life for yourself is to give part of yourself away." As such, it has sparked a wave of generosity towards charity and it is being reported that already 5 million dollars has been raised for charitable causes as a result! This is the official site of the movie "The Ultimate Gift" and the grass-roots movement its starting to help charities and give to others. Check it out, and check out the movie in theatres very soon, March 7th! If you can't wait that long, you can check out a sneak preview over on YouTube. He is "The Ultimate Gift" preview. Update: I have seen this movie and it is very, very good. Do yourself a favor and find a theatre that is playing it and go and check it out ASAP!

Memoirs of a Gouda
...by Morgen from "It's a Blog Eat Blog World"

Today's Morgen Monday brings us to the Wonder Of Washington State: Allie D's Memoirs Of A Gouda.

Since her blog's subtitle is "Grabbing Life By The Curds, Searching For Wisdom Along The Whey..." you know you're in for a punny good time searching through her aged cheese bin.

She describes herself as "almost 27 years old, a full-time mother of two and a full-time student" and she maintains several blogs, on top of those two-full time occupations!

Whether it's skewering world leaders, wishing for special abilities, or waxing poetic about the failed marriages of celebrities, Allie delivers pointy wit and a bouquet of flavor, just like a shaker of romano cheese.

While talking about her children, she fills you with gooey goodness like a warm brie. My favorite posts of her involve candy, surprisingly, not cheese! Check out her Leave It Dead series on candy: from circus peanuts to ju ju bees to gummy worms, this Gouda knows her sweets!

Somehow, along with all her interests, school, and two adorable kids, she has time to blog. Blog On, Allie D, Blog On! So, head on over to Memoirs Of A Gouda, and tell her that Morgen and Bestest Blog sent ya!

RemotePC - Remote Access helps you access your PC from anywhere. This is like turning your desktop into a portable laptop that weighs nothing. Imagine being able to access your computer from anywhere you can find another computer: the library, your work, your school, etc. All this for only $4.95 per month, after your free 30 day trial of course. Try to find a laptop that only costs $4.95 per month...that's a hard price to beat.

PayPerPost ads [-]
Lately I've been doing more PayPerPost (PPP) ads than normal. But I can't help myself! Ever since PPP introduced segmentation, a high-trafficked, high-PR blog like mine has lots of good opportunities for posts.

Well, I've had one person comment (and probably some more people silently think the same), that the ads are becoming a bit obstrusive. So, as you can see at the top of the center column here I've added a link that says "Click here to hide/show all PayPerPost ads below." Per PPP rules, I cannot hide these ads by default, but certainly I can give my readers an easy option to hide these ads and just view the regular content.

So there you go! I hope this improves your Bestest Blogging experience! Let me know what you guys think of this new feature and if you will be using it when you visit...

Cisco Wifi [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
www.cisco-online.co.uk offers a lot of services to its visitors. In fact in taking this PayPerPost opportunity, I was able to select from 5 different, interesting topics to write about such as their data centre (I love having freedom!) Well, I chose to write about their Wifi services. I think wireless internet is amazing! This is like something straight out of a futuristic novel. To think that only 10 years ago we were signing onto the internet with slow 14.4 modems that tied up our phone lines all night. And go back 20 years and the internet was some fancy government-only resource. Kind of exciting to imagine where we could be in another 10 years when so much advancement is taking place. But whatever happens, it's probably a solid bet that Cisco will be at the forefront of it all!

Two of my favorites from my site can be found over on Milblogging. Former Bestest Blog of the day Sgt Dub is there. And (future Bestest Blog of the Day?) Sarge Charlie is there as well. In fact, Sarge Charlie is in a competition for Best U.S. Military (Veteran) Blog. He's in 2nd place and can really use your votes!

SEO Case Study [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
I love writing about SEO (Search Engine Optimization). I understand a lot about the topic from what I learned as a computer science major in college, but doing these sponsored posts helps me learn a little more. Plus as most of my readers are avid bloggers, I hope you can learn a little and understand better the dynamics of the world wide web.

eTraffic Jams is an SEO company (love the name by the way fellas). And how you can tell they are legit is the 4 testimonials they've provided for reference. One of the best ones is for RehrigPacific.com. This company had previously tried another SEO company that was able to deliver results for certain search engines, but not for Google. I mean, that's the main one you really want to get on top of! This just goes to show you that the SEO process isn't perfect...it isn't a science...and who you choose really does make a difference. eTraffic Jams was able to get this company's 4 desired keywords into the top 10 on Google, as per the original contract. eTraffic Jams has confidence though, and they told RehrigPacific basically, "I hope you're happy with the results let us know if you'd like to improve your results further." Well, they did...so they drew up a new contract which included a bonus fee if eTraffic Jams could get their keywords into the top 3 on Google...and sure enough they were successful!

Domain Names [-]
Well, at this point bestestblogofalltime.blogspot.com and www.bestestblog.com both get you to the same place. So feel free in your linking to put it as either. In fact they both have the same Page Rank. This says to me that although at this point most of the links out there point to bestestblogofalltime.blogspot.com, there is some sort of symbiotic relationship out there as far as page rank goes.

Do you know how much domain names cost? If you really don't, take a guess at the yearly price. Ok got it? Did you guess about $8? Because that's how much they cost per year! You might have guessed higher. Most people confuse hosting prices with domain names. Hosting prices are what you pay a company to provide a place to put your website files (kinda like what Blogger does for free). Domain names are just a name.

But, New Blogger has an easy way to set up configuring your domain name in. If anyone is interested in buying one, I'd be happy to help you set it up.

Stay tuned a little later today. I'll be having a contest where you can win a domain name and some premium blog credits!

Contact Lenses [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...

Time to talk about contact lenses. Although I personally do not use eye correction, I know that I'm in the tiny minority, and I'm sure as I get a little older, I'll need glasses or contact lenses. In fact, I think I'm already getting a little near sighted...

My brother-in-law recently got contact lenses after wearing glasses for years, and it was funny hearing about his first "lens insertion experience." The poor guy probably tried for a full hour to get the lens into his eye, and by the time it was finally in correctly, his eye was as bloodshot as can be. There's definitely a learning curve to contact lens insertion, because now he can do it in the dark.

Other than the difficulty of getting contact lenses in, they are really more convenient than glasses in my opinion. With glasses, you have to keep them with you all the time, you might get that characteristic red mark on your nose, your lenses can fog up when you walk into a warm room, and you have to be so careful not to break them (especially a problem with little kids).

I definitely think that I'll use contacts when my vision starts to deteriorate. And by then, my brother-in-law will be an expert, and he can show me how to do it without an hour-long battle!

Thanks for reading this sponsored post.

It's time to flesh out the Oscars by discussing the Intimate Guide Academy Awards coverage, or lack thereof.

The 79th Annual Academy Awards is coming up very soon (Sunday, Febuary 25th, starting at 6:00PM EST). The staff at the Intimate Guide will be doing a feature blog broadcast live during the red carpet. Check them out to get real time talk about the arrivals on the red carpet...and their underwear.

That's right, the topic of discussion, as it always is at the Intimate Guide will be underwear. And with a name like Intimate Guide, what else would you expect. Check out their blog feature during the Oscars this Sunday to get all the info on what those Hollywood starlets are wearing under those fabulous gowns. This site is great for women who are getting ready to go to a gala themselves. You'll get answers to the common questions, such as "How do they smooth their tummies, shape their rear and show all that cleavage with such a small chest?" No one but the Intimate Guide is brave enough to go there.

My wife and I are looking to purchase a townhouse, and since we are first time home buyers, we have to learn the whole process from scratch. Well, we're looking into getting a house for our next move. We're sick of renting! AHH! Homes are more affordable than you might think. In fact the rent for a place is probably similar to the mortgage the person who owns it is paying. Buying a home is a long process though. Well, it used to be longer before fast home loans. 90 second application form without a Social Security Number (not a good idea to give that out on the internet), plus they have lenders competing just like that other lending site (that involves trees, I don't wanna say their name here though).

2. Create banners for previous winners
3. Rework template a bit
4. Finish HTML coding
5. Get rid of un-updated blogs (>30 days since update)
6. Get rid of blogs who have gotten rid of me

Nintendo DS [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
As I have stated before on my site here, I am a huge video game fan. I think the pop culture term for that is "dork" but I like to avoid negativity :) Lately I've been pretty into XBox, but my first love will always been the Nintendo. Plus, as far as hand held video consoles go these days the Nintendo DS is hard to beat. DSBrowse is a review site devoted to this dual screen innovative system. My favorite game for the DS is the Brain Age game that is supposed to train your brain as you play it. I've also always been a fan of Mario Kart DS.

The best part about this site (as opposed to other video game sites like Game Spot or IGN) is that there is no corporate sponsorship. No corporate sponsorship means honest reviews, not puff pieces about games that aren't worth your time or attention. It's like if Ebert and Roepert were sponsored by Disney or Paramount or some other movie company. They wouldn't be nearly as famous or their opinions nearly as respected because they'd be pressured to give good reviews for certain bad movies and no self respecting human being could ever truly trust them! Sorry for the rant, but it needed to be said!

SEO Consultant [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
Shimon Sandler (yes, that's Shimon, not Simon...and yes that's Sandler as in Adam Sandler) is an SEO Consultant turned blogger. Seems like anyone who is anyone in business or entertainment these days is blogging. But it makes much more sense for an SEO Consultant like Shimon.

Checking out Shimon's site, his SEO strategies are VERY methodical. He is my kinda guy. You can tell just by looking at his site that he is a list maker, which in my opinion is a great thing. It shows organization and goal-oriented focus. For example, he has a 16 item long task list for SEO Consulting. Ideas ranging from "Understanding Client’s Business Objectives & Strategic Marketing Plan" to "Competitive analysis for main keywords/keyword phrases in Search Engines" to "Recommendations to optimize source code including the URL, filenames, page titles, descriptions, javascript, etc" and "Internal & External Linking Strategy & Recommendation"

The next thing he has on the very same page is his 9-step SEO process (I told you this guy liked lists). This process has steps like "Identify the main and alternate keywords for each web page," "Submission to Search Engines & Web Directories," and "Monitoring and Optimizing."

So, I think that you can tell from my analysis above that the content of this page is good. This guy knows what he is talking about. He is focused and goal-oriented and ready to help your company. But the style of this blog is pretty good as well. First of all, being an SEO Consultant you better believe his site is itself optimized for search engines and PPC revenue generation. The site is well organized into 3 columns with lots of relevant links to help search engines. Plus, he has a nice big Google adsense text link ad that melds very nicely into his template.

I guess the only negative I could say about his site, for an SEO guy, is that his individual webpages are numbered as opposed to having unique and relevant names to further help search engines. Maybe it's because it looks like he uses WordPress and I don't know what kind of options they have over there.

Dixie's Heart and Soul
...a review by Empress Bee (of the High Sea) at Muffin53

I first met Dixie Chick at Dixie's Heart and Soul through Sarge Charlie, he would tell me to go look at something she said and off I would run to see. I realized she is a very special lady with a very special blog. She is very patriotic and I like that very much. Dixie is a single mom and there is always a special place for those in my heart. She talks about her son that is about to be a Marine, and you can feel the pride emanating from her. She shows us her daughter's artwork with pride. She teaches us so many useful things!

It is my great pleasure to bestow the Bestest Blog of the Day to Dixie Chick!

You're sneaking onto your blog during working hours, you're avoiding household duties and chores for your blog, it's like an addiction! That sounds like it could be bad, but it doesn't have to be. If you're smart about it, you can turn all this enjoyable time and energy spent on the internet into a profitable livelihood. You just need to find a online business opportunity to get you going. And why not? Soon the number of dot com businesses will outnumber the total of retails stores and shops and by the time my generation hits their twilight every single person in America will be surfing the web. Consider this your chance to get in on the ground level!

SEO Companies [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
Where do a lot of successful websites get there traffic from? Well, some sites such as Best Buy or Amazon.com or Expedia have been come household names and can afford million dollar TV ad campaigns. What about the next tier of successful websites? Believe it or not they get a TON of their traffic from search engines. Some search terms are searched for thousands and thousands of times every day. If your site is #1 or even in the top 10 for that keyword, you're bound to get a ton of traffic. Luckily you don't have to worry about this all by yourself. Perhaps you're not a computer wiz and your time is better spent focusing on other aspects of your website. That's why there exist SEO Companies (Search Engine Optimization) like Bay St. SEO. Bay St. is at the top of their game and can really get you some big hits. This isn't free, but the cost per visit far outweighs any other option out there for website traffic.

RockStartUp [PPP] [-]
Rock Start Up is Pay Per Post's (my favorite "get paid to blog" site) attempt at reality tv. Well, it's not actually on TV, it's on the computer. Unless you have a TV screen for a computer screen, then I guess it is on TV. But it's certainly reality. I think I've heard the term webisode thrown around...kinda like an episode but on the web. I like that term and it will now become part of my vernacular.

Pay Per Post is a relatively young company (just started up this past summer basically). But they are doing REALLY well. Rock Start Up chronicles their journey from the beginning to where they are today and will continue to keep track of where they are going. My favorite episode to date was definitely the first one. Though there have been some other really good ones (VEGAS WEDDING BABY!), the first one is just the most interesting and introspective. It really shows a lot of character and adds to some suspense to whether or not the company will succeed. I think you will enjoy it, and if you aren't already hooked on the web documentary that is Rock Start Up it is definitely where you need to start (this isn't one of those catch up in the middle stories...it's more like "Lost", you need to see EVERYTHING). So, check out the first episode below and let me know what you think.

Hey, do you want a free Norton Antivirus download? If you know how important virus software is and how expensive it can be, then your answer is undoubtedly yes. If you don't know how important virus software is, then you probably don't have any and your computer may soon explode! You need it more than the first guy! You may want to check out the Norton Antivirus Reviews to see why Norton has quickly and securely claimed its place as the number one source for protecting your computer. By the way, did I mention all this is free? That's probably my favorite word in the English language, hehe.

Crazy Working Mom
...a review by Skittles!

Today's "Bestest Blog Of The Day" goes to the Crazy Working Mom herself!

Tisha is from Arkansas. She's married with two youngsters. She works for a plumbing supply store so you can read why she named this post Oh, The Irony. So, she DOES work and she IS a mom, but I think she's far from crazy.

Well.. maybe you should make up your own mind when you read The Story where she tells about shopping on Black Friday at WalMart while she was in labor with her first child!

In Super Nanny she talks about how different her son and daughter are and how she hopes she makes the right decisions as they grow up. She also made a funny list explaining the Thirteen Ways To Tell You're A Mom.

Her husband sounds like a nice guy and he's even helpful around the house. Once a year he makes her a Deer Widow.

At the top of her blog, Tisha wrote the following:

"No one is ever born into Life alone. Everyone has shared the bond of family, at least at birth, and for many people it is a bond that will follow them throughout life. For many people it is the most important bond of all. The moment a child is born, the mother is also born."

Please drop by this wonderful blog that is filled with so many different things like weekly memes, jokes, and always about raising kids while holding down a job. Tell her Skittles and The Bestest Blog Of All-Time sent you.

Drug Rehab [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
Well, Britney Spears is back in drug rehab. Personally, I don't have a very high opinion of people who abuse their bodies and their lives and the lives of those around them with drug abuse and addiction. Who I DO have a very high opinion of are the people operating these drug rehab facilities. It takes a lot of patience and dedication to want to help out those who are in need like that...especially strangers. I think that I might help out my relative or friend, but never a complete stranger. That's what makes people at drug rehab places like Stone Hawk so special. Plus, they do a great job! Just check out their website for a picture of what they offer and the amazing results!

Wireless Weather [PPP] [-]
Are you a weather fanatic like me? I watch the news just for the weather. I go to Weather.com several times a day. Especially in the winter time...being a teacher I like to know when a snow day may be coming my way! My summer time activities are very crucial on it NOT raining. That's why I think Brookstone's wireless weather forecaster is perfect for me. It's a little picture-frame sized device that gives you the upcoming 5 day forecast. That's right wireless. No modem, no phone line, nothing! I think it's totally awesome and could certainly save me a lot of time searching out my weather elsewhere. I could put it right on my coffee table. If I were going to give this as a gift I would give it to myself first and foremost, and probably whoever's house I visit the most secondly so I could see the weather when I go there as well.

Review My Post [PPP] [-]
Pay Per Post has a brand new feature that is pretty exciting! It's called "Review My Post." How it works...you put a little graphical link at the bottom on your posts. A new potential Pay Per Post members sees this link and clicks on it. They sign up for Pay Per Post and are paid $7.50 to review your post and include a link to your site. Right here, this helps you generate traffic, both with people clicking the link and the potential page rank increases. Sounds good already, right? Well, that's not all. Pay Per Post will also pay YOU $7.50 for helping them refer this new member.

This is the new addition to their affiliate program. Previously, Pay Per Post was paying $15 to refer new members (see the link in my left sidebar if you are interested). Well, now they're still paying $15 total, but splitting the profits 2 ways. But the referrer gets an extra link as well. Plus, this is a more appealing way to bring in new members as opposed to just joining and not knowing what you are getting into!

I've said this in the past. When something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Pay Per Post (now with their Review My Post option) is the exception that proves this rule. Don't believe me, try it for yourself!

Amazon Savings [PPP] [-]
To the PPP Reviewers:
To say that my blog is not about technology is insane. First of all, yes, my main topic that I blog about is blogging. I know working at PayPerPost, you must get jaded with blogs, but they are most definitely a form of technology! My mother would not know how to make a blog or even read a blog. And beyond that, I do talk about other topics on technology, especially ones that help out other bloggers such as: PayPerPost (duh), LoudLaunch, ReviewMe, Performancing, MyBlogLog, LinkExperiment, 2000Bloggers, etc. I was given the opportunity to categorize my blog, and technology is DEFINITELY fitting for my blog. Thank you and have a good day.

Wow, this site is an amazing idea! AmazingRefund.com offers its customers Amazon Price Protection. How it works is, you buy an item from Amazon through Amazing Refund. If at any point during the next month Amazon lowers the price on the item you bought, Amazing Refund sends you an email with easy instructions on how to be refunded for the difference. I buy a ton of stuff from Amazon, especially around Christmas time. It would be REALLY nice to be able to buy something knowing full well that it won't go on sale for 30% off the next week and leave me crying that I didn't hold out!

Updates [-]
Well, I will be out of town this weekend until Monday. Luckily, Monday is President's Day and I have off from school. So, I won't have a chance to do the updates until then, but luckily I will have that chance! By the way, the current high for Featured Blog of the Week is $90. In the post above you see that I mention that I won't be around my computer to do updates until Monday. I will be around a computer, but it doesn't have all the files and settings that I need to perform the updates. If I wasn't such a cheapo I'd maybe try to do RemotePC Remote Access. Wait, they have a 30 day free trial, so I'm out of excuses! Ok, my real excuse is that I will be busy while I am away. But if I weren't I could try the free trial, and then it's only $4.95 per month after that. A small price to pay to be able to access your computer from ANY other computer.

The Wooden Porch
...a review by Jessie

You might want to go take a seat on The Wooden Porch because it is the Bestest Blog of the Day! The Wooden Porch is a cozy corner in the blogsphere. You can find a perfectly mixed combination of humor, seriousness, education, and just plain fun. The Wooden Porch is one of my favorite hangouts and I hope it becomes one of yours!

When you visit The Wooden Porch expect to find occassional public service announcements. The Wooden Porch is dedicated to stopping the insanity of visual verification. Hopefully people will take the advice bestowed and our eyes and blood pressure levels will return to normal someday soon!

Some of my favorite posts from The Wooden Porch include Clever little rhymer. This post had me laughing as she described how her daughter found a word that rhymed with bucket... I also enjoy all of the posts regarding book reviews. A couple of the books in my too be read pile have come from suggestions at The Wooden Porch.

I do hope you will stop by The Wooden Porch. Take the time to sit and visit for a bit. I promise you won't have to manage the maze of comment verification to chat a bit. Make sure to let them know that Jessie from Who Are We and The Bestest Blog of All Time sent you!

Make money while surfing! [-]
This is not a sponsored post (it may be lengthy though, but I promise it is worthwhile). I am sharing this information because I think you'll find it very useful.

Agloco is a new company destined to help web users earn money while surfing and is FREE!! to join. If I had read about this company BEFORE I made $1400 (and counting) off of PayPerPost, I might be a little more skeptical...but now, I know that anything is possible with these Web 2.0 companies.

There are two ways to make money through Agloco.
(1) Surf the web like you normally would.
(2) Refer others to Agloco, and get paid for a percentage of the hours they surf.

So, the natural question you should be asking yourself right now is where is this money coming from? Well, while viewing the web, Agloco gathers certain information about things like which online shops you like. "Isn't that like spyware?" you might be asking yourself. Well, no! Spyware serves a similar purpose, but sneaks its way onto your computer and is very hard to get rid of. Agloco must be downloaded (so no sneaking), and even then it may be turned off or uninstalled at any time. Some companies are willing to pay BIG bucks to try and figure out the best ways to drive people to their site! I remember a site similar to this called AllAdvantage that I made $30 off of surfing the web when I was like 16...but that site doesn't have nearly all of the bells and whistles that this site does!

So, you wake up, turn the computer on, boot up Agloco and get paid while you check your mail, check out your favorite blogs, and maybe buy a new book on Amazon. Now, let's say you want to check your online bank statement, and don't feel comfortable having Agloco watch over you then. Simply, shut down the program, and don't boot it up again until you're good and ready!

The most genius thing about Agloco though is its earnings sharing. Consider this...recently YouTube was bought out for a price of 1.75 billion dollars (yes, billion with a B). The 3 gentlemen who created the website split it 3 ways. But, what about the initial users who told all their friends about YouTube and posted all their videos there and made YouTube the success that it is, rising above all its competitors? What do they get (besides free video hosting)? They get nothing! With Agloco, everyone gets a share of money generated through advertising and other means...now, certainly the creators will get MORE than the normal user (as well they should), but the fact of the matter is, they're sharing!

So, why not sign up and give it a try? It's free to join...so even if you are skeptical, this is a no risk situation here! Click any of the links in this post to join Agloco (while using me as your referral).

Big Money [PPP] [-]
Pay Per Post has been rolling out some big money opportunities lately! This has to do mostly with their new segmentation and ranking system. There's even an update for $1000, but you have to be Page Rank 8 to take it. There are a couple of other opps in the triple digits that you have to be Page Rank 6 or higher. But in the last week or so days, myself being a Page Rank 5, have landed some big money opps. I've had 2 50 dollar opps, 2 35 dollar opps, 1 30 dollar opp, 1 20 dollar opp, and a bunch of 15 and 10 dollar opps (this one included is a 15). The moral of the story is that now the biggest, more trafficked blogs (like mine) are making some bigger money, while the other blogs still get paid to blog about the 7, 8, 9, 10 dollar opps they are used to! So everyone wins!

Another interesting thing I found in this opportunity is Pay Per Post sharing how much THEY make. For each post I do, there is a 35% fee that they collect for themselves. So, for this $15 post, Pay Per Post is making $5.25. Compare this to ReviewMe's site, where if someone wanted to pay me $15, they'd also have to pay ReviewMe $15. That's a 100% fee. Not cool ReviewMe. Way to go Pay Per Post!!

New Domain [-]
As Doctor Anonymous has already pointed out in the comments, you'll notice at the top that the address bar now says www.bestestblog.com. For awhile, I've owned this domain (since July) and have just had domain forwarding on. That means if anyone typed in bestestblog.com it would forward them to bestestblogofalltime.blogspot.com. With the New Blogger though, I've discovered a way to do things the other way around. Now, anytime anyone types in bestestblogofalltime.blogspot.com, it will forward them to www.bestestblog.com. My blog is still hosted on blogspot, it's purely an asthetic thing.

iBackup [PPP] [-]
To PayPerPost reviewer: Two of the categories for this post were business and technology. First of all, this is a blog about blogging. Maybe blogs may be second natute to those of you at PPP, but to most of us they are still pretty advanced technology. I blog about a lot of web tools as well such as PayPerPost, LoudLaunch, Agloco, Google Adsense, Adbrite, ReviewMe, MyBlogLog, Technorati, HTML, Javascript. Not to mention quite a few that have nothing to do with blogging, most recently Pandora and Imeem.

As far as business is concerned, I consider running this blog to be a business as it has been netting me in excess of $1000 per month (outside of PPP ventures). I post at least once a week (usually 3 or 4 times a week) to discuss the progress of this business venture of mine.

To say that this blog is neither business nor technology is absurd. I have referred over 800 clicks to your company's site and have spoken nothing but praise. But to reject me on this post, especially after it has been up and getting hits and getting indexed by Google for 3 weeks is insane. I have been rejected before for similar reasons, but after appealing to the reviewer as I have above, it has been accepted. Thank you for reading, and for the benefit of the advertiser, I will certainly remove this section of text WHEN my post is accepted.

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
Do iBackup? No, but I probably should. I've heard horror stories of people losing their blogs because of a Blogger malfunction. Well, it's a free service, so you get what you pay for! With a blog with as much information as this, I should probably have some sort of Online Storage and Backup. I don't backup yet, but if I did I would back up with iBackup. I've read that they are the perfect Online Storage and Backup site for small businesses, which is what I consider myself. They'd be perfect for someone like me for a few reasons. (1) They're affordable. (2) They are reliable. The reason they're so affordable is because they don't make you purchase HUGE amount of data. Some sites have plans starting with 1 terabyte (1000 gigabytes) or information. I WOULD NEVER USE THAT MUCH! iBackup has much more sensible plans for a small endeavour like mine!

As you may have noticed, I have finally switched over to New Blogger. Trust me, it wasn't by choice, they made me do it! Yesterday I was lucky enough to catch a $35 opportunity in Pay Per Post. When I tried to log in to Blogger it automatically redirected me to switch. Not wanting to fool around and potentially lose the opportunity, I made the switch.

Anyway, I am currently experiencing some growing pains related to switching and hope to have them worked out soon. Loans [PPP] [-]

Well, my wife and I are officially looking at houses. Man, houses are EXPENSIVE! Especially in their area we're looking at (Gaithersburg, Maryland). We are most definitely going to need a mortgage loan... and a hefty one at that. Luckily, we are first time home buyers and I have read favorable things about advantages first time home buyers get (better interest rates, lower down payments, etc.). I'm just happy my wife and I have good credit... which I don't think is true for most people our age (24). Because I have read horror stories about how hard it can be to find a Bad Credit Personal Loans. Imagine finding the house of your dreams, at a price you can afford (over 15-30 years), only to have your mortgage loan application denied! OUCH! I hope that doesn't happen to us!

A comparison of similar sites [-]
My blog here is very dedicated to helping other bloggers increase their traffic. In fact, it may be the only blog of its kind. There are other WEBSITES out there that help bloggers, but they aren't themselves blogs. Two of these such websites are BlogExplosion and BlogMad. Below are some statistics comparing these two sites with my own. As you guys know, I am a math teacher, so numbers are my thing! I was doing these comparisons just out of my own curiosity and thought I'd share the results with you.

In this comparison I'm using Technorati to chart how much each site has been blogged about in the past year. After all, if you find a site that you're happy with, chances are you may write about it to tell your readers. (Please note the different labellings on the vertical axis).

First up is BlogExplosion. A pretty consistent total throughout the past year, but definitely a downward trend.
-----------------------

BlogMad looks like it was REALLY popular back in February and March, but has since lost some steam.
-----------------------

Finally, we have my site. As you can probably gleen from the graph, I haven't even been around a whole year. I started in July. You can almost pinpoint different points in my blog's history. For example, I went on vacation the first week of August and my computer crashed in early November...you can see where the graph dips in these places.
-----------------------

Conclusion: Though certainly more popular earlier in the year and maybe in the summer as well, BlogMad and BlogExplosion are expressing downward trends. My site however appears to be on the up and up. Currently, all sites appear to be about equal at approximately 10 posts per day.

My spin: There's no doubting that these sites still have me beat overall, but the trends are certainly in my favor. Plus, I am rationalizing to myself by saying that I'm just one guy, while these sites are run by a company.

Blog Email [PPP] [-]
Hey guys, today I am writing to tell you about a brand new email marketing application that is specifically designed for bloggers (and if you are reading my blog, it's mostly safe to assume that you DO have a blog of your own). The program is called Zookoda. So, why is this blog email so particularly attractive for other bloggers? Well, Zookoda allows you to send daily, weekly, or monthy summaries and collections of the latest posts of your blog directly to your visitors' inboxes. That's pretty freakin cool! Did I mention that all this is free? Wait, I need to put that last sentence again with the emphasis it deserves... DID I MENTION THAT ALL THIS IS FREE? This could definitely be a handy dandy tool to increase readership. Think about it... Someone comes to your blog and they like what they see. If you have a link and make it SUPER EASY to sign up for regular emails with Zookoda, this person will DEFINITELY be back since for sure they check their email regularly. On the other hand, without Zookoda, the person might bookmark your site, he might link it on his own to remember it, or he might just flat out forget that it ever existed and never return. Do you really wanna take that chance with a potential long time reader??

Purrchance to Dream
...a review by Empress Bee (of the High Sea) from Muffin53

Purrchance to Dream is a wonderful cat blog. There are several kitties in there, the lovely Chloe and the demure Daphne:

the sweet Spooker:

And the formerly-feral Jazper.

They take turns writing about their daily adventures and Not the Mama is kept hopping to do their bidding. They like getting into a little mischief, dating, and memes. And I like them.

Stop by and tell them Auntie Bee says "meow y'all".

Smiles.....

eTraffic James [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
One thing that I have claimed to be a pseudo expert on here on my blog is Search Engine Optimization. I've talked about Page Rank. I've talked about keyword targeting. But I am a novice, a green thumb, a fledgling, compared to the guys over at eTraffic Jams. The case story they are asking me to analyze is pretty incredible. It was for a website called FurnitureESuperStore dot com (which is actually pretty ironic because my wife and I have been furniture shopping quite a bit as of late, anyway...). They took this site and made it a search engine competitor. They sky rocketed 50 of the sites targeted keywords into the top 10 sites on Google (and after all, does ANYONE really click on anything beyond the top 10?). Plus, about 30 of those 50 were in the top 5 (that is to say, it's likely to be seen without having to scroll down). The site's traffic increased by 131%...that means it more than doubled the site's previous traffic for those of you who aren't good at math. And for a furniture site and people searching for furniture keywords, you could imagine that this spiked their sales profit. Now, I wouldn't recommend this site for just anyone. After all, they do charge a fee...but if you have a business website or a business blog, then this could definitely be what you need to see yourself to big time sales!

Erika Jean
...a review by Skittles!

This week I'm so excited to tell everyone about a blog called Erika Jean!

Erika is from Cincinnati, Ohio. She's going to college and is studying such things as Life Course Criminology, Domestic Violence, Police Organization Management, and Criminal Procedures.

Don't let that fool you into thinking she's boring though, because you sure would be wrong! Erika loves the outdoors and being adventurous as you can see when you watch this video of her hamming it up at the Red River Gorge. You can really get a sense of how much she enjoys life!

There are a FEW hints here and there about a little sibling rivalry going on between Erika and her sister as you'll read in Gingerbread House, but it's all in good fun.

At one point she decided she would try getting away from blogging, saying she would be away from Thursday until Monday. (Her courage prompted me to write my own post about blogging addiction and made me re-evaluate my own time spent here.) She was back on Saturday!

One of the things I love about this blog is that you never know what to expect, except that her vivacious personality shines through consistently. Even in her post Slice Me Off A Piece Of THAT she makes a disturbing post interesting. (Don't click on the picture link by the way. I did. Big mistake.)

Erika's blog is a wonderful part of our community. Please go see why so many other people have become such big fans. Tell her Skittles and The Bestest Blog sent you.

Well, if you happen to live in or near one of these towns and have a thing for Designer rugs then you'll definitely want to read on! Tufenkian carpets is having their semi-annual designer rug sale! This isn't like 12 packs of soda that you can usually catch on sale every other week at the grocery store. Designer rugs are a very hot, trendy item and you won't find a SALE on items like this very often. Heck, you can save 10% just by registering! And don't worry, Tufenkian has assured me before asking me to write this post for them that they do NOT use child labor (a common problem in the industry). So relax!

Lawyers [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
Have you ever heard of the Purple Cow Law Firm? I am not joking around, there is an actual law firm called the Purple Cow Law Firm. Why the silly name? My guess is it is to appeal to the common person who needs legal assistance. Let the wealthy business men hire the Schwartz, Schwartz, O'Malley, Harrison, and Scwartz law firm. Ok, well they do have another name, it's the Brodsky Law Firm. But still, I think that is what they are going for in this advertising campaign. Why do I think that? Because they offer legal services at an average of 70% less than the standard going rates. A lot of times you don't need a fancy high priced lawyer, you just need someone to represent you in a standard, straight forward legal situation. No loop holes, no insanity pleas, no million dollar lawsuits, just normal stuff like making a will or negotiating a lease for an apartment. If you need the other stuff, then by all means buy the best money can buy with their fancy multi thousand dollar suits and their limosines and their uptown Manhattan skyscraper office suites. Is what I'm saying making any sense? It is to me! I hope you enjoyed my rant, I don't need a lawyer now, but who knows what 2007 will bring. I may be scrolling through my blog trying to find this post come summer time.

L'esprit de l'escalier (Gem's Blog)
...a review by Mimi from Dating Profile of the Day

Want quality writing with a witty twist and lots of hutzpah? You've come to the right place. Gale Martin's entertaining blog never fails to live up to its French title, which literally means "staircase wit".

She has been called the Erma Bombeck of Blogging. I totally agree.

Her topics range from Blog-o-nomics to adventures at Dunkin' Donuts (the little chain that could) to Shaker Celibacy! A published author, yuppie extraordinaire and prolific writer, her style is fresh and her stories unique with well-placed pics for a visual delight. A Blog of "Gem-osophy" as she calls it, is full of original humor and sage advice.

Happy Friend Day and Global Warming in the Blogosphere are heartfelt tributes to happenings online and elsewhere. Always funny and willing to laugh at herself, her self-proclaimed "rants" are intellectually elevated above the usual mindless blog chatter found in personal blogs. She sometimes gets lost on the freeway (Circle of Death), savors brunette jokes, attributes "silly snake days" to the late great Steve Irwin and is fascinated with the minute and technical aspects of blogging.

GEM is an enthusiast blogger with heartfelt kudos and praise for fellow bloggers and always mentions new gems she finds in the blogosphere. You will also find glowing comments left by happy visitors; the mark of any good blog.

Light-hearted and witty, this site will leave you in stitches and craving a daily dose of GEM.

You want to "get me where I live"? writes Gale in her bio. "Write me something good. Or just write me."
Gale Martin knows the power of words - and uses them well. Give her a read and tell her that Bestest Blog and Mimi sent you!

Ford Mustang [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
The description for this opportunity on Pay Per Post read "Are you a Ford Mustang fan?" My answer is an unequivocal yes. Two years ago, when my wife and I were in Las Vegas for our honeymoon, there were a lot of slot machines where the grand prize jackpot instead of being a large lump sum of cash was a fancy car. When I say there were a lot of them, I'm talking maybe we saw 10-15 different setups in different casinos. Well, I'm not much of a gambler. Especially when it comes to slot machines...I think they are boring and I have no control over my own fate as I do in a game like black jack. Well, the only slot machine that I had to play, that I just couldn't want past with out feeding all the spare change and low denomination dollar bills I had in my pocket was the one offering the Ford Mustang as the jackpot prize. Well, needless to say I didn't win, but putting that 3 dollars and a few quarters in that machine was well worth the reward. Plus, the Mustang was red. It would have to be red. Not saying that other Mustangs aren't nice, but if you are going to get a great car like that I need to get it in my favorite color.

Valentine's Carnival [-]
The next edition of the wildly popular Bestest Blog Carnival is coming up! In fact the deadline for submissions is tonight (Saturday) before midnight! The theme is "Valentine's Day." So, if you have any posts relating to Valentine's Day, you can go here and submit it to the carnival. Even if it's only slightly related to the theme, like "the day I met my husband" or something like that. Any lovey-dovey (or the opposite, we were lovey-dovey but now I hate him/her) will be accepted. It's a great way to get exposure and thanks to Cathy for hosting this round!

Work From Home [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
I'm not gonna lie. This blog has made it tempting to devote my life to it. The money I have drawn from it in the part-time makes it an appealing option to try and do full-time. I have lots of ideas that I'd like to implement that I keep putting off until the summer (when I have more time). That's what makes this sponsor's website so intruiging. It is called http://www.workfromhomefacts.com. It has a lot of information for people like me that would want to work from home. Even if they don't have a potential job lined up (like my blog for me), they give you tips on where to find one. This is especially appealing for stay at home moms who want to make additional income or anyone else with a specific reason to want to stay at home. This site goes tit for tat with other popular work from home sites such as TheRichJerk.com and 3500Weekly.com. In fact, in several aspects (for example, they helpful FAQ section), I think it may be better.

The next featured blog of the week! [-]
Time is running out for you to become the next featured blog of the week. Remember how it works...the largest premium blog donation of the week is entitled to double hits from the Random Blog button as well as that nice big link that you see in the top left. The link itself has been getting about 20 clicks per day, but the number of extra random blog visitors is well into the hundreds.

Currently this week's highest donation is $87. Time runs out when I finish doing my updates (sometime on Sunday). Thanks and good luck!

How Much I've Made [PPP] [-]
Check out my link to Pay Per Post in the left sidebar if you are interested in joining after you read this post!
Pay Per Post is paying me to tell you how much I've made puttings their ads on my blogs. Well, to this day I've been paid $1223.54 already! That is money that is already in my bank account. That does not include the $387.38 that I have coming my way in the next 30 days (it will be $397.38 after I submit this post). Since they'd like for me to write 200 words on the topic, I thought I'd share some of the awesome things I've bought with my money. Ok, they're not that awesome, because I'm notoriously cheap. In fact, most of that money is probably put away in savings. But, having made about $800 before Christmas time, I declared to my wife that Pay Per Post is paying for all our presents. And they did, with some money to spare...and Christmas time is the one time of the year I'm not notoriously thrifty. Besides that I just attribute Pay Per Post with making the life of a high school math teacher a little more tolerable. I am actually able to save up some money and not have to live pay check to pay check which is always nice! Thanks Pay Per Post and thank you readers for reading!

Fonts [LL] [-]
The following is a LoudLaunch advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
Have you ever seen a print out or an email or a website with what you thought was a really cool font? A lot of people don't realize that fonts are something you can download. Microsoft Word and other word processing applications only have a certain number of default fonts to start out with (for example, Times New Roman and Courier). If you want to add a little flair to your word files or your PDF's or whatever you are typing up you need to find some cool fonts to download. Well Urban Fonts has a font download website. In fact you can Download Free Fonts at their site. That's right, downloading fonts is just like downloading music...except FREE with Urban Fonts! I'm kind of a plain guy, you know your standard meat and potatoes, short hair cut, no flare clothing. But even I have downloaded some cool fonts for power points I did in college. Even better, I use to find cool fonts to make posters for the upcoming shows of the improv comedy group I was in in college. Anything that was better than Times New Roman to catch the eyes of passer byers as I posted the posters on bulletin boards.

Get a Klu
I love featuring blogs that are unique and this blog is BEARY unique. It's written by a stuffed animal named Klu.

I know what you're thinking. This blog is actually written by a person pretending to be a stuffed animal. Well you're wrong! Don't believe me? Here's a picture of Klu at the computer typin' away (along with friend Wilburina).

Klu and his friends have a lot of fun on their 'ventures and there's always someone nearby to capture the fun in a picture for Klu's blog. They've knocked over a potted plant, went pillow skiing, made cookies, played in the snow, and took a bath.

If you're not already in love with Klu and his blog from seeing the few pictures I put up here, then you have an icy soul! Ok, maybe not...but still this blog is awesome! Be sure to check it out and let Klu know that Bestest Blog sent you over.

Goji Berries [LL] [-]
The following is a LoudLaunch advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
I am a very picky drinker. I don't like much. My appetite for soda has waned recently, and I'll only drink it now if I am at a party or something and there's nothing else better...I never buy it at home. I've never been into the hot drinks, coffee and tea. And don't think that that means that I like iced coffee, because I certainly don't. Iced tea is good though, the really sugary kinds like Brisk. As for alcoholic drinks, I do NOT like beer. Call me a freak, but it's true. My favorite is probably Mike's Hard Lemonade. The one thing I really like, and have always really liked are juices. Apple juice, orange juice, grape juice, pineapple juice, they're all great in my book! One juice that I've been hearing a lot about, but haven't had a chance to try yet is Goji Juice. It's supposedly much healthier than regular juices, tastes just as good, and contains helpful antioxidants to help fight the aging process. Goji Berry Juice is of course made from goji berries. You probably haven't heard of this type of berry. It's found exclusively in the Tibet area of China, mostly in the Himalayas. What a berry is doing growing in the mountains is beyond me, but that certainly gives it an air of mystery and intrigue. At least to me it does.

Soliloquies Exposed......That Frolicsome Kid
...a guest blogger review by Mimi Lenox of Mimi Writes

Sociology, sweet school crushes, best friends tiffs and endless worry about class subjects. Sound like high school?
It is.
How many teenagers do you know who describe themselves like this? "I'm just another 16 year old guy who acts very naively and ignorant of life. I live in a fantasy world, where my life is simply perfect. And that life I know of is slowly ebbing away from me, leaving me vulnerable to the harsh reality. Let's just say my own bubble was burst. And I shall sit and ramble my soliloquys, hoping that someone can listen to my daily predicaments."
Meet Frolicsome Kid.
This blog has a clandestine feel with a dash of mystery. That's saying a lot for one still wet-behind-the-ears. Read this adorable post called "My Crushes" about a girl named Carrot (sorry, FK! Adorable just seems to fit you!) And brainy. And kind. And thoughtful. And sincere. But getting back to adorable....."I remember my heart doing flipflops when I neared her." Fast forward a few grades "I drew her to a secluded corner and...." I told you! Mystery! Intrigue! Romance! He's quite a character.
But what is special about Frolicsome Kid's essays has nothing to do with his fast-paced teenage life (although that in itself is interesting) - I admire the way he honestly relates to his readers.
I particularly enjoyed his account of a trip he took to Taiwan and Singapore with his family. Then there are the surprises he seems to always stumble into, like the day his best friend found his secret blog. Yikes! Technically savvy, bright and funny, this kid always has something relevant to say. And he says it in a big way! Please don't miss his NaNoWriMo book HERE.
Frolicsome Kid is a web published author with a novel called Kinderella.
We're impressed, Kid.
I hope you'll visit this witty young man, read a bit of his book, maybe leave a sage comment or two - you remember when you were that age, don't you? - and tell him Mimi and Bestest Blog sent you!
Congratulations, Frolicsome. Your blog friends think you're very cool.

Note from Bobby: This blog has the sweetest template I've seen in awhile! This site is worth checking out for that reason alone (plus everything Mimi wrote!)

Review My Post [PPP] [-]
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
Pay Per Post (the super duper awesome company where you can advertise on blogs or put ads on your blog and make over $1500 like I did, see left side bar for a link) has another fabulous new promotion. The title of the promotion is called "Review My Post." It is a new part of Pay Per Post's revamped affiliate program. How it works is you put a little graphic after all your posts. If a non Pay Per Post user clicks the graphic, they will be prompted to join the program and be paid $7.50 to review your post. In exchange for referred this person, Pay Per Post will also pay you $7.50. So let's see here, you get $7.50, and the new person gets $7.50...PLUS! you get a nice review about your post, an extra link, and therefore some extra exposure. Sounds like a win win situation! I think it's great personally. Tell me another company out there that will pay you, to have someone review your own blog, and pay that person in the process. Ok, well if you sign up here for free, there's a chance I'll review your blog (if it's the bestest), but there's not any money exchanging hands in the process!

Watershed is a very capable drug rehab clinic. I think the name Watershed is very good. I don't know why, but it just brings of beautiful imagery of someone overcoming their alcohol addition or drug addiction. Maybe it makes me think of shedding tears, which is a very likely occurrence during the rehab process. I looked through Watershed's website and they seem to be on the ball with this. If you visit their site and look at some of the rehabilitation statistics you will know they're not messing around. I'm no expert on the subject, but that has to be one of the best success ratios out there...being how much I hear about relapses and failed attempts. I pray that you don't know someone who may need their services...but if you do, at least maybe now there is some hope.

A Little Piece of Me
...a review by Skittles!

Claire from A little piece of me has shot into the Blogosphere like a rocket! There's hardly anywhere you can go that she isn't there also. She's smart, funny and very quick witted. You can't help but catch her contagious and wonderful outlook on life.

In her post Why Do You Do It she explains why she started blogging and what she hoped to do with it. She explains that as a new counseling student she was encouraged to keep a journal and decided to use the blogging format. Then she goes on to tell about other things including the friends she has made here.

Claire is an active member in all the popular weekly memes like Thursday Thirteen, Friday's Feast, Saturday Photo Hunt, Wordless Wednesday and the newly created Manic Monday. Speaking of memes, she's even been tagged a couple times.

There's another great thing about Claire. She's not afraid to speak up and defend her friends as she does in her post Blog Rules, Blog Etiquette, Blog B**locks.

I could go on all day, but why don't you go discover Claire for yourself. Tell her Skittles and The Bestest Blog sent you.

Recently, one of the last domain names of this kind I heard got sold for several hundred thousand dollars. So, if they weren't in this for real, for big business, they'd take they 100 G's and cash out. This company is a hosting company primarily, but also offer other services such as Business VoiP. They have some sweet hosting packages if any of you bloggers are looking to move off of Blogspot or Wordpress and onto to your own domain. Their first plan at only $10 a month comes with- 5GB ( 5000 MB) web space, - Linux + SELinux, - Daily, Weekly, Monthly backups!, - 100gb/mo transfer, - Dedicated IP Address, - 50 imap/pop3 accounts, - Unlimited Forwards, - Unlimited Subdomains, - Unlimited MySQL Databases,, - SSH Access, - Spam Filters, - Webmail, - Control Panel, - SSL Support*, - 10 Addon Domains, and - Easy Open Source Installer. Cafe Games [LL] [-]
The following is a LoudLaunch advertisement...scroll down for more posts...
I've been known to write an ad or two just for the hell of it when I had no interest in the product. Sorry! I just want to start off by saying that that is not the case here. Cafe.com is a new site currently in beta. Their offering to the online world: a social community to meet people and play games. When I was younger...think ages 14-20, I was VERY, VERY into online games. Now, I wasn't your typical internet geek who didn't have any real life friends. I have real friends...but instead of playing basketball at the local court, we played internet games from the comfort of our own home. Cafe.com looks pretty awesome! And the fact that they're still in the beta stages makes it even awesomer. I definitely see a lot of potential for this site, but they're already providing several cool games and the ability to create a unique avatar and socialize with other gamers. Oops, did I mention all of this was free?? That should've been the first thing I mentioned. That was of course a prerequisite of my friends and me, since we were poor teenagers (though we did eventually end up shelling out a few bucks for a few select games). I could definitely see us being into this site then, and I am still pretty into it now! Hope you enjoy!

These days computers are becoming more and more important. I'm not just talking about the entertainment they provide us chatting with friends, streaming videos, downloading music, blogging (of course). I'm talking about IMPORTANT stuff. For example, this will be the first year I am doing my taxes on the computer. I also have other important things like a copy of my resume and grades for the classes I teach. If I lose all that stuff, I am SCREWED! That's why it is a good idea to look into Online Backup and Storage. And this company is the best, I had heard of them previous to writing this review. Now, it's not free. Although there are free services out there...remember you get what you pay for! iBackup won't let you down when it counts (and even if it's not free, it's not THAT expensive either). Check it out!

SEOP is attempting to become the next pioneer in Search engine optimization. It seems almost like a Catch-22 situation for a search engine optimization company to be optimizing a search for search engine optimization through Pay Per Post. Did your head explode reading that sentence? Anyway, they have 33 computer scientists on staff to provide you the very best. My company (if you could call it that) only has 1 computer scientist on board...granted that's 100% of the company but still. They specialize in getting the most bang for your buck in paid search clicks such as Google Adwords. Yes, Adwords. Us bloggers are so use to our half of the world, Google Adsense, that we forget about the other half, the people that are actually shelling out the money that we make.

Central American Rhapsody: A Cautionary Tale
...by Morgen from "It's a Blog Eat Blog World"

Today's Morgen Monday comes to us from that wild little country of Honduras. That's right kids, it's time for Miss Jill to share some hilarious moments at a Central American Rhapsody: A Cautionary Tale.

Jill is a 25 year old Mormon who teaches 6th graders in Honduras. She believes in doing something good in her life, and clearly she believes in doing it with a great sense of humor. Frankly, I had to get a map to locate Honduras, and I can only imagine what it's like there -- she has her own bodyguard (he wears a t-shirt that says "Player") but, she also has her own maid (who wears knock-off Hilfiger t's). Jill's Honduras is the land of cheap hit men, fawning church women who make horrific bakegoods (carmelized treebark, Jill writes), and a place where menthol Halls are divine treats. I guess after eating carmelized treebark, popping a Halls like a mint doesn't sound so bad.

Being a teacher, some of Jill's greatest stories come from her time with her students. While her choir cracks me up, it is little Juan who makes me laugh out loud -- he is a little fashionista, think a young Hispanic Carson Kressley. Then, of course, there are the classic lines -- like the answers she received when she asked her students: What is your best school memory?

So check out Miss Jill at Central American Rhapsody, find out why "Banana Republic isn't just a store at the mall," and tell her that Morgen and Bestest Blog sent you. Make sure to bring enough Halls so everyone can have one!

Well, officially consider me in the home buyer's market. My wife and I have been shopping around and just trying to get an idea of what type of home we might be able to afford at this point. It sure beats the heck out of renting and basically wasting all that money every month. The tricky thing are the loans. Most places say you should get preapproved for any mortgage application. The problem is that with us moving soon and finding new jobs, we aren't able to give them our salary figures since we don't have the job yet. We're hoping to buy a home that is new enough that we won't have to renovate at all and worry about a home improvement loan. And hopefully our jobs will be good enough that we don't worry about a remortgage quote either. Also, there are something called secured loans, but I don't know much about them.

Encyclocentral is a new (at least new to me) online encyclopedia. I love the layout and the functionality. And they already have a great selection of topics from Car Rental to eggs. What makes me think this site will succeed is their use of google adsense. For example, on the page about eggs, there are targetted ads about eggs. So, if the article isn't exactly what you are looking for (or even if it is) there are ads there to supplement your reading. Great thinking guys!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner...a holiday more dedicated to commercial aspects than Christmas (hey, at least there's a little religion involved there). When shopping online it is VERY helpful to have web coupons to apply to your purchases. Luckily websites like this one hold a compendium of coupons from all different types of merchants such as one of my favorites Best Buy Coupons. No need to clip out these coupons, just search for your favorite merchants and you got them!

Bestest Blog Tool of the Day! [-]
I thought I'd switch it up a little bit and feature a great tool that I've been falling in love with lately. If you haven't tried MyBlogLog yet, what are you waiting for? It's a really cool way to network and they give you really cool widgets for your blogs (like my Recent Reader lists below).

One cool thing is they keep a community of other MyBlogLog'ers who are regulars at your sites. I think it'd be good for all of us if we could get the Bestest Blog Community and Random Blog Button Community into their top 50 communities (more traffic for me = more traffic for you!). So, if you're not one of the 34 members of one of these communities already, won't you consider joining them (by clicking the links above)?

Credit Cards #2 [PPP] [-]

Need a cool gift idea? Try the mint credit card or mint gift card. Basically it's like a gift card for any place that accepts credit cards. One year I bought a friend a gift certificate for the Olive Garden. That New Year's, he decided he was going to go on the Atkin's Diet. Hmm Atkins + Olive Garden = no match. I don't know what he ended up doing with it, maybe he re gifted it. The fact of the matter is, had I gotten him a mint gift card, good at millions of locations, it wouldn't have been (or at least have felt like) such a wasted gift! I will accept mint gift cards if anyone wants to get me one, haha!

My Marrakesh
...a review by Mimi Lenox from Mimi Writes - REVISITED!

Big News! Former Bestest Blog Of The Day winner Maryam of My Marrakesh has made it to the final round of the 2007 Bloggies! If you've been folllowing her blog this year, you know that the quality of her site is superb and has only increased in readership and respect since first winning Bestest Blog of The Day November 28, 2006.
Click here to cast your vote and let's show her some real support! Way to go, Maryam. We are so proud of you! Want to know more about her? Read the original review below and congratulate her once again for continuing to be the Bestest! Good luck, Maryam. We fully expect you to make a brilliant showing in the blogosphere.

Where can one find belly dancers, exotic cuisine and Rapunzel-like towers all in one blog? Welcome to Maryam's place. At the beginning of a strange and magical odyssey she writes......"Once upon a time....in a kingdom far, far away (not kidding about the kingdom part) an American couple with two children decided to eschew any plans that they might have had for house with a white picket fence (do people still have those?) and move to a city that was not their own. This blog is their tale to make that city their home, to make it their Marrakesh."
And so they did.
You can find the heartwarming saga in beautiful detail on Maryam's enchanting blog called "My Marrakesh." Why Morroco?
Maryam, the writer, explains by quoting Winston Churchill, learns how to deal with House Insomnia and persuades her architect husband to take up residence in the middle of an olive grove.
Intrigued? I was.
Although Maryam's site started out as a House/Decorating Blog, it has become much more. A visual artist in her own right and with a penchant for pink Moroccan poufs, you'll also find sumptuous displays of traditional cuisine beautifully displayed with recipes galore. Her site is not only well-written and witty, it's a decorator's dream.
But it isn't all flowing palm trees, charming bungalows and peacock feathers. Maryam knows how to tell a tale of peeling paint disaster too. Did I mention she's funny? Poignant? Down-to-earth? All of those things. And mindfully conscious of life's most precious gifts right in front of her. Read this touching post dedicated to her sweetheart (that would be husband Chris) who designed the fairytale tower she plans to work from. They both love the unique landscape of their countryside. Fig trees, olive trees, homeless critters, mountains. According to Maryam, ..."the view out my office window was better than a double scoop of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream."
And how many of us can say we have a flock of sheep grazing in the backyard?

But Maryam's vision didn't stop there. One night, after entertaining guests in their Moroccan hideaway, inspiration struck. They decided to design and build a guest house in Morocco.
With a little Barakah - which is Arabic for "luck" - the journey continues and Maryam's dream is fast becoming a reality. And as all good plotlines go, she explains that bitterness, doubt and angst are part of her story too. Her blog is a chapter-by-chapter account of what happens when an artist and an architect decide to follow their passion.
It is a lovely tale.
Good things always happen to those who have a noble vision and purpose. Her family's hospitable spirit was the catalyst for meeting award-winning artist Maria Noma Bliss, whose painting you see here - a portrait she did of one American family in Morocca - Maryam's family.
This"bemused tale" of life in a faraway place is warmly penned and recaptured by this charming Egyptian-born woman. In a land of natural wonders and beauty, surrounded by exquisite things, Maryam spins a tale of one magical boy and a little girl named Grace.
As I said, she knows what's important.
And what about her dream house? Take a look. This exquisite rendition of their enchanting Moroccan home is well on the way to becoming a finished reality.
The real treasure, according to Maryam, is what's inside.

I just love a happy ending.
Don't forget to tell herthat Mimi and Bestest Blog of All-Time sent you to her warm abode.
Vote for Maryam!!

Credit Cards [PPP] [-]

It's a good idea to have a few credit cards even if you don't really need them. The reason being, spending at least $25 per month with them and paying it off immediately helps build your credit. This is not only a factor for future credit cards but also for loan and mortgage applications. I am learning a lot about this as I am starting to read about the home buying process. Luckily, I have been charging things and paying them off quickly for years on my credit cards. To learn more about topics such as 0% balance transfers, credit card comparison, and credit card reward points, please visit today's sponsor. And let me know if you guys have any tips for me about improving my credit or getting the ball rolling on the new home process!
