Bestest Blog of the Day: 01/31/2007 [-]
|
Thermal - Just A Lot Of Hot Air ...a guest review by Starrlight The Scottish Are Coming! And at least one of them is getting an award when they get here! Today's pick for Bestest Blog of The Day is Thermal - Just A Lot Of Hot Air. I love this Blog. Chris has done a great job making it fun and user friendly. Topics can range from candy to kids. The look of the Blog is clean and user friendly and makes me feel like housecleaning my blog, but in a good way! Here is what Chris has to say for himself, "Hi, I'm Chris Lodge, I live in the county of Aberdeenshire in the country of Scotland, which is part of the UK. I'm married, with twin boys born in 2001, and have (gladly) given up real work to look after them. I don't miss it at all. Being an opinionated kind of person, I though I'd start a blog (along with everyone else on the planet!) and see what happens. I like music, reading, walking in the Grampian mountains and the ancient Stone Circles of Britain - I have a website on these circles Bigstone-Stone Circles Of The Uk." One of the coolest things at Thermal is the recognition given to his faithful readers. I love a Blog that is has an offbeat range of posts and Thermal has that down. Recent topics have included nasty candies we remember from childhood, licorice in this case, Thermal brings you News of the Weird and occasionally painful Thermal provides the public with services as well such as helpful tip on eating abroad. And the time waste management post like Isotope are always appreciated! So go on and Cross the Pond and visit Chris at Thermal - Just A Lot Of Hot Air and tell Chris that Starrlight and Bestest Blog of All-Time sent you!

Penny Stocks [PPP] [-]
|
THIS POST IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT FROM PAYPERPOST. THEY PAID ME TO DO IT!!! EVEN THOUGH THIS ALREADY SAYS SO BELOW, "AM" WANTED ME TO POST IT MORE VISIBLY OR SOMETHING. ALSO THIS POST WAS ORIGINALLY MADE ON JANUARY 31ST. The following is a PayPerPost paid advertisement...scroll down for more posts One of the hottest new investment trends on the internet are penny stocks. Penny stocks are stocks whose share prices is VERY low. Stocks like this represent a minimum investest that could get a large profit. Think about it. A stock is selling for a penny per share. You buy 1000 shares for $10. If the stock goes bankrupt you lose $10, no biggie. If the stock goes up to a nickel per share...you're up to $50! Nice! This site promotes itself as The MySpace for the Penny Stock investor! A pretty big claim, but they back it up with nice content, incentives for first time members, and lots of helpful charts and reviews. Check it out!

Ms Maggie Moo Talks 2 U...a review by Skittles! The first time I visited Ms Maggie Moo Talks 2 U I was hooked. She went right into my links list and will stay there. Mags is such a breath of fresh air in this Blogosphere! She is an extremely interesting lady and is not afraid to discuss her past heartbreaks as she shows in Swan Umbrella And Doritos. It's a very poignant post about an unrequited young love. In her post Crescendo, she's again in her childhood, but this time talking about how sometimes good intentions don't always work out the way you hoped. She touches on her problem with skinny people thinking they are overweight in Weebles Wobble and since at times she has thought of giving up dating altogether, she gives funny hints on how to end a bad date in Simple Suggestions. Mags is from Connecticut and is in culinary school and expects to graduate in June. She does some catering and in-home cooking classes besides working in a restaurant once a week as part of her internship. Check out this bowl of Green Goddess Ice Cream. (Made with avocados!) Please drop by Ms Maggie Moo Talks 2 U soon. Tell her Skittles and the Bestest Blog sent you.

Soap Opera [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsToday I took the opportunity to tell you guys about a Soap Opera News site. Not only does this hot up and coming site want a little buzz to get people to check it out, but they're also looking for a little constructive criticism... so I'm happy to give it to them. My first comment would be that the site is very busy (though of course many people have said about my site as well)... I guess when you have a lot to offer there is a chance of running into this problem. I know I am working on it here, hopefully they are working on it as well. Another thing I don't like is the music that automatically loads on the site. This is a serious pet peeve of mine and has made me adopt the policy of keeping my speakers off by default. Other than that, I'd say they have a pretty awesome site on their hands (if you like soap operas)!

We haven't had many submissions at all compared to previous carnivals...are you guys too embarassed to submit one? Well, if you get over your embarassment, submit your post for the next carnival here and check back next Saturday when the carnival will be hosted at Ramblings of an Undisturbed Mind.

Peggy, as she isThis guest blogging pick comes to us from Ms. Peanut at "Peanut, Peanut Butter...Jelly!"
(Insert drum roll here) "And the winner of ‘Bestest Blog of the Day for September 14th, 2006’ is ‘Peggy, as she is’!" Mommy Dearest, Boy, and Elsie’s mother complicate Peggy’s life on a regular basis-- from denial of visitation to not minding her own business. Between having a 2- and a 4–year old, running an eBay store, dealing w/ MD, and life in general, I don’t know how Peggy does it. I especially love her rant about advertising on PBS and her rant about Mommy Dearest’s attempt at visitation denial. You never know what you're going to read next with Peggy. It could be about PBS, Mommy Dearest, her secret admirer, or even garbage bags! So please check out Peggy at "Peggy, as she is" and tell her that Bestest Blog and Peanut sent ya!

Free Podcast [PPP] [-]

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts If anyone is interested in hosting their own Free Podcast, this is the site to check out. A Podcast is kinda like an audio blog...and you just like your set up your RSS feed to regularly alert your readers of new posts, you can set up a podcast to let your listeners automatically download new episodes. Maybe free podcast hosting doesn't sound like a big deal, but unlike just typing out words...audio files take up a lot of space and bandwidth. SO it is a big deal, therefore making this site a big deal. Check it out!

This week's updates... [-]
|
...are complete! Only 79 new blogs this week. Wow, I can honestly say that I never imagined that I would ever be saying that I ONLY linked up with 79 new blogs in a single week. But after two weeks, both above 100, 79 seems a little small! But I shall persevere. Check them all out on the Recent Additions page. Also, I must mention the 6 blogs that fell out of the top 100 this week: S Nicolas Originals, Brave New Word, A Homesteading Neophyte, Twenty-three and Counting, To Love, Honor, and Dismay, Dr. BlogsteinThis recent update makes it official...the Top 100 Premium Blogs all have donations over $5! That means that 100 people have found my site useful enough and worthwhile enough to donate OVER $5. This is both flattering and kinda scary at the same time. Sometimes I don't take the time to realize and appreciate how well this site is doing, but when I take a step back and look at facts like this, I can't do anything but utter "wow" to myself. Thanks everyone!

Social Network [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Social networking sites are great. The internet on a whole is great. But social networking in particular is a great way to meet new people and to learn new things. For example...some blogs are all about the person who writes them, and you can learn all about that person, their likes, dislikes, and feel almost like you've known them your whole life. Often, you get to know them better than you get to know your real life friends. The other possibility is that the blog has a theme. Like this one, do you get to know me really well? Kinda, but not especially. But it is the bestest resource to find OTHER great blogs to read. There are a lot of Poker blogs out there, offering tips and personal user experience on how to be a better poker player. This one in particular is pretty good. If you've been keeping, tabs, I've been playing a lot of online poker lately. Up I'm $5 total...I'm just happy I haven't lost it all yet!

Bestest Blog of the Day: 01/26/2007 [-]

The Cedar Chest...a review by Jessie When searching for a good blog I look for several things. Do I connect with the blog in some way? Is it well written? Do I feel better after visiting than I did before? And does this blog connect with other blogs by way of links, comments, shoutouts... All of these things are true for The Cedar Chest so that's why it is The Bestest Blog of The Day. Elie thoughtfully describes her blog in this way. "At the foot end of our bed sits a cedar chest and in this cedar chest are many items that I hold dear to my heart. There are homemade quilts, baby clothes our kids wore and graduation cap and gowns among other items. Each one having a story of it's own. My hopes are to put into this blog what I can't literally put into my cedar chest. I am hoping that my blog will have as wonderful an "aroma" as my cedar chest has each time I open it and put new words and memories into this blog." Elie does a fantastic job of sharing her memories, feelings, and life with her readers. She is a loving mom to her children. What I love is that while she obvioulsy adores her children she also shares her struggles as a mom. She talks about her son and his slight problem with The Cedar Chestspeeding. She shares about how her daughter has changed over the years and how she offers Elie some encouragement when she needs it. Elie does a great job of reaching out to other bloggers and forming connections. On the weekend you can find a Weekend Wink from Elie. She will pick a blog she enjoys and writes a very detailed description of that blog to share with her own readers. In a lot of ways Elie reminds me of my own mom. When I visit Elie's blog I feel safe and secure and happier for having visited. That's how I always felt with my mom. So pay Elie a visit. I promise it will give you feel good moment and we all need those from time to time. Don't forget to tell Elie that Jessie and the Bestest Blog of All Time sent you!

Sunglasses [LL] [-]
|
The following is a LoudLaunch advertisement...scroll down for more postsWholesale Sports sunglasses, Wholesale Fashion Sunglasses, and Wholesale Sunglasses...the new 2007 line is available and they are looking great! A lot of people don't realize that sunglasses are not just about making a fashion statement (though they are very trendy), but they can also be worn for health reasons. A good pair of sunglasses (not a $10 crap pair from CVS) will more than likely have up to 99.9% UV (ultra violet) ray protection. In fact, you might even call a good pair of sunglasses a different name for this reason. Regular sunglasses protect your eyes from the bright glare of the sun. What some people forget though is that on a cloudy day, the sun might not be in your eyes, but the UV rays will still be pounded down and causing potential damage to your eyes. So don't worry if people give you a weird look for wearing a good pair of sunglasses on a cloudy day...you know better than they do! (Of course, I must mention that despite all this, there is still no non fashion reason to wear them at night! But, I guess if they go with your outfit, wear them all you want. How about a compromise though, at least not while you are driving!)

Well, first you have to be a member of Pay Per Post (see the left sidebar for a link to their free and easy sign up). Then, you collect all 48 puzzle pieces (this is piece #1). You assemble all 48 puzzle pieces on your blog, and be the first to take the $1000 opportunity when it pops up on Pay Per Post. This time around, the puzzle is a collage of pictures taken by the recent winner of an "HP Camera." I too entered the contest to win that camera, but oh well. Actually, they had 10 cameras to give away, but they've only given away 9 so far...I guess I still have a chance! Thanks to HP and their Digital Photography Review...HP sponosored this post!

Credit Cards [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsCredit Cards are perhaps a necessary part of our modern society...both for the good and the bad. I always think of them as a Catch-22. If you have a good credit rating, you get a card with low interest, though you probably don't need it...if you have a bad credit rating, your card will have high interest and you get screwed even more. It's the high interest that is scaring a lot of people (like me) away from using their credit cards as much today as people have in years past. We all know someone, who knows someone, who screwed their life up royally by maxing out their credit cards and barely being able to make the minimum payments. Stay up to date with credit card news and if you have to, consolidate onto a better credit card with 0% balance transfers.

He wrote a book all about how he did it using a technique called Buzz Marketing, where you basically just get people talking about the idea and let it kinda snowball until everyone is in favor of it. Now he's a marketing speaker and going around giving speeches about how you can be a Buzz Marketer.

It's About Time...a review by Skittles! Since this is my first time as a guest reviewer I thought it only fitting that I pick one of the first bloggers ever to comment on my blog! That blogger is none other than Mau from It's About Time!!! I had posted about Taylor Hicks from last season's American Idol show and she commented that she liked him, too. In her post called Bonus she calls it a "Woo Hoo Day!" because she'd bought a People magazine that had articles and pictures about him along with her other interest Prince William. Be sure to read her hilarious post called Look Through Any Window where she tells about something disgusting she oversees her neighbor doing! In her Creep Who Came To Visit post, she tells about a visitor nobody would want to have. Mau is from Ontario and enjoys exercising, sometimes with very embarrassing results, as you'll read about in Cracker Jack. (She's not going to be happy with me for listing THAT post.. haha!) She and her husband enjoy boating and other activities. She was one of my first blogging friends to transcend the line to real friend and we have make more than a few phone calls! Please drop by her blog and tell her congratulations from Skittles and The Bestest Blog!

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Belisi has established himself as one of the US's top fashion critics. From giving tips on how to remain hip and hot in today's current fashion world, to breaking down the latest red carpet runway gala disasters and spectacles. There are a lot of "look your best" shows and a lot of "Hollywood celebrity fashion" shows...well Belisi's blog takes both of these concepts and combines it into one. And let's face it, they're pretty similar as it is, I'm surprised they're not bundled together more often.

87 new links up that can be checked out in the Recent Additions. This week something amazing happened. The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsThis is a Pay Per Post opportunity that I probably would've shared even if I wasn't being paid. I love these! This one is about Inphonic Jaguar...Inphonic is an internet company and the Jaguar was the victim of the prank! This guy (who by the picture, I bet you can guess is named Walt) parked his Jaguar in the far corner of the parking lot to avoid any possible dings or dents. Well, one day his co-workers decided to cover it completely in Post-It notes! I think it looks pretty hilarious, so bright and neon. You can't even really tell they are Post-It notes...they did it so evenly and covered everything. I wish my friends and family had this idea instead of the standard shaving cream debacle at my wedding!

Weekly updates and other stuff [-]
|
Well, we tied the record with 115 new link exchanges again this week! Check em all out in the Recent Additions. You might notice that I've changed the right sidebar around. Before, it used to be the top 100 blogs sorted by category. Now it's the top 100 blogs sorted by donation amount. The previous order didn't seem fair to those who were pretty generous, but didn't happen to be a personal blog. Remember this order when you are making a donation! For example, a donation of $10.25 will get you significantly higher than a donation of $10.00, since there are so many $10 donations already (#57 though #81). Here are the blogs that fell out of the Top #100 this week. Remember guys, you can always add to your previous donation! And you still get all the other perks of being premium, except being in the sidebar: Controlled Chaos, And Another Thing..., meloncutter musings, A Dog A Day, Memoirs of a Gouda

Poker [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsI have been playing poker online a lot lately. I like to play at sites such as Pokerstars and Bodog poker. Obviously, everyone knows that playing poker online is very different from playing it in person (for example, you don't get to see someone's facial expressions, so you can't glean any information or tells from them). But, playing poker at a casino can very depending on what city you are in. For example, Las Vegas is the home of the casual gambler. People go though with their vacation money and are prepared to lose a certain amount of money. Not to say that they don't try their hardest to win, but more often than not they play at tables outside their skill level. At a casino in New York however, you don't find these people. The tables are more comprised of skilled poker players and local players as opposed to vacationers.

Cell Phones #2 [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Hope you guys enjoyed my first cell phone ad (and who are we kidding, of course you did!) because here come another. One of the things I find most confusing is how different phones only work for different providers. It's like, they're all doing the same thing, why can't I transfer phones between service providers. For example, now, as I mentioned below, I have a Verizon cell phone. But, before that my wife and I had Nextel (which, if I may pause briefly was a HUGE mistake...they didn't have free mobile to mobile minutes, even though my wife and I shared a plan...at the time we were living in separate states, so we needed to call each other a lot...for each minute we talked to one another, it took 2 minutes off our plan!). Anyway, when we made the switch, we wouldve liked to bring our old phone with us to the new plan, because the phone itself was great, just hte provider sucked. But, alas, that was not an option. Luckily Wirefly has all their phones sorted by service provider, which makes it really easy just to browse the phones that will work with your plan!

Cozy Reader...a review by Jessie from "Who Are We"The Bestest Blog of the Day is Jane's blog, Cozy Reader. I love the name of this blog! And the blog lives up to it's name! It is a cozy, comfortable, feel good kind of blog. Whenever I go and pay a visit I feel relaxed. It may be the great layout, it may be the great pictures, heck I think it might be the great writing... Whatever it is I'm glad I found it because the Cozy Reader makes me feel cozy! Jane is married and has children. She likes to read and likes her friends. She is like a lot of us. She has her share of frustrations. But she also has her share of good things too. In fact she has quite a bit to be thankful for! Jane loves and I mean loves Venezuela and will be going for another visit this Saturday! I think she is pretty excited about it. Hopefully when she returns she will fill us all in about her trip. Jane's son actually married a Venezuelan woman and Jane really loves her two. In fact they are expecting a baby which is another thing for Jane to get excited about! If you are on a weight loss journey of your own this is another blog to add to your blogroll! Jane has lost a remarkable 34 pounds! She is committed to losing weight and keeping it off. So stop by and cheer Jane on! Take your time so you can get cozy when you visit the Cozy Reader. And don't forget to tell Jane that Jessie and The Bestest Blog of All Time sent you.

Cell Phones [PPP] [-]

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsMy wife and I have a family cell phone plan with Verizon. One of the things that I like best about Verizon's plan is their "New Every Two" promotion. When we joined with Verizon, we had to sign a 2 year contract. After the 2 years, if we opt to sign ANOTHER 2 year contract, they'll give us a free phone for doing so. That's why I need to check out Wirefly announces the Top 10 cell phones of 2006. Because our 2 years are up in May! My phone is durable, but it doesn't have any of the bells and whistles that these phones do. It's not super slim, it's not a cool color, it's doesn't play MP3's or surf the web or run cool applications and games. Not saying that I NEED any of these things, but if Verizon's gonna give me a new phone, I wouldn't mind having them!

I'd like to invite you all to come on in, sit down and make yourselves comfy on The Couch! Bond has some of the best content and the widest variety I have found to date in the Bloggerhood. Sports, music, and movies, Bond covers them all. Head on over to The Couch on Monday's for The Monday Matinee where Bond tells us a story complete with soundtrack. Every week Bond serves us up a compelling read and is kind enough to remind us to make the popcorn before hand! Bond has also put a new "spin" on Wednesday's. He has not only decided Wordless was not his style, he also decided the day needed a dose of beats. Mid-week Musical Meme, a fun and really challenging (HARD!) take on Name That Tune with regulars competing to get their name in lights above the couch. The Couch will also offer you a seat on for the weekly favorite Thursday Thirteen which recently feature a pictorial 13 chronicling his life. I demand an invite to the next clambake!Fridays gives us the Wide World Of Sports, Couch Style! where Bond gives us his take on the week in sports. The Couch has no problem letting the stuffing fly when dealing with sports: "Those of you who have been around a while might remember THE COUCH holding vigil hoping for Barry Bonds to retire. He hasn't but he might end up doing so now. See, it has been reported that good old Barry tested positive for amphetamines during the 2006 season. Yes kids, you heard us...the poster boy for the steroid cloud hanging over baseball tested positive for uppers." So head on over and make yourself comfortable on The Big Leather Couch and don't forget to tell Bond that Starrlight and Bestest Blog sent you!

Troubled Youths [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts There are two things that I really like about teaching, and they're on the opposite ends of the spectrum. One is watching the smart kids absorb the new things I am teaching them like a sponge...it is really impressive sometimes what they are capable of. The other is taking the bad kids--the trouble makers--and trying to make a difference in their lives. Of course, my training is math, and I can only do so much for these kids. Sometimes they need more help...counseling, guidance, teen drug rehab. People working at these places have the necessary training to deal with those situations (though I bet I could run circles around them in a calculus competition!)

Bestest Blog of the Day: 01/17/2007 [-]

Second Effort...a guest review by Empress Bee (of the high sea) I first read this blog some months ago and found a (shhh...very sweet but don't tell him) curmudgeonly attorney in Chicago. He is a family man that loves his wife and children and that attracted me to him 'cause, well, I do too, so right there we had something in common. Now he will not let us know what he looks like, I tried without success to get him to post a photo. He chooses his anonymity and I begrudgingly learned to accept that. He says this is his communion photo:
Technology? Read his views here. He is a sports fan, a historian, and an all around good guy. He refers to himself as "a 'dinosaur' – not that he’s extinct, but that he lives a cheerfully old-fashioned life: titular head of an intact nuclear family; a churchgoing resident of the bungalow belt." I just love that y'all. And I think the Curmudgeon is a wonderful choice for Bestest Blog of the Day if I do say so myself!

Fashion Blog [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts I bet the title of this post may have attracted more women, but in fact this is a post designed for male fashion! Belisi's Sharp by Design Blog is a place where men can get fashion tips. We're not just talking about those the latest and greatest tips...like which colors are in or out this season...but classic fashion tips as well. Stuff like how to tie a tie, the best way to pick out and wear a great suit (at a great price), a mix and match do's and don'ts, etc. I don't have to worry about these things, because I'm married (I don't mean to say I'm a slob...I mean to say my wife tells me when I make a fashion mistake). Single guys take note if you want to make a girl think you're not a bum...then once you're married you can relax and let her pick out your clothes for you. Hahaha!

Pointless Drivel...a review by Mimi Lenox of Mimi Writes We all need drivel. Right? Listed in the Funny Blogs category, I'd say that's an understatement in this case. "Someday this blog is going to get me killed," writes the comedian in detective's clothing. Once you cross the yellow crime scene tape it's truly a riot. Most of the time dear Pointless is just full of....of...."love"... shall we say. Warning: Mr. Drivel can be a tad irreverent, but always relevant. Isn't that what counts? I must say that the layout of his blog drew me in. The not-so-pointless-drivel made my stay a pleasant one. Even for a crime scene. Touted as "the weird kid" as a child, once you read Who Is Mr. Fabulous you'll soon understand and sympathize with the accusation. Guilty as charged and proud of it. Never fear. He has a spiritual side too. (God talks to him about gum.)I'm not sure which side that is, but nevertheless, it's there. You decide. I promise it's never boring! Tell him Mimi and Bestest Blog of All-Time sent you over. And for Heaven's sake watch that yellow tape! Maybe say Three Hail Marys just for luck.....Wouldn't hurt.

Lawyer [PPP] [-]

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Do you live in or around San Antonio? Home of the Alamo...and home to a pretty good San Antonio Attorney. Well, I guess you don't really have to live in that area for this San Antonio Lawyer...this guy has a website! And on this website he is offering a free consultation. Hiring a lawyer is serious business, there are a lot of good ones out there...but also a lot of greedy, manipulative ones too. If you need an attorney, chances are you're either in trouble or fighting to keep or gain a large sum of money. Those are serious issues. The fact that you get a free consultation in huge. You get to sit down and talk to the guy...not only do you get some free preliminary legal advice, but you get a chance to scope out whether you think he'd be a good lawyer. It's kind of like he is interviewing for the position to be your lawyer...and you're the boss! And well, you should be the boss...it's your money...it's your neck on the line...you should call who is going to represent you. One day I thought I might like to be a lawyer, and sometimes I still do...maybe someday if I make a fortune on the internet and can quit teaching, I'll get my law degree just for fun!

Award Haven A lot of times I think it would be a good idea to review a blog whose theme coincides with a major event (i.e. a political blog during elections week). Unfortunately, usually by the time I have that idea, the important event has passed...BUT NOT THIS TIME! Tonight is the Golden Globes award ceremony...the first major awards show of the year, and often looked at as a prelude to the Oscars. What I like about the Golden Globes is that it is more laid back. The celebrities are kind of informal...cracking jokes and making fun of one another. It's nice to see a side of them that is almost real. Well, if the Golden Globes are the beginning of award season, then this blog is about to kick it into high gear. Award Haven is a blog dedicated to these types of awards shows. Here are Head Honcho's picks for the Golden Globe winners. He thinks that Ugly Betty has a good shot at rocking the Golden Globes. One of the main interests of the winner's at the Golden Globes is trying to at least predict the nominees at the Oscar's. Here is some of his prediction and analysis before the Globes even take place. Head Honcho covers a lot of Awards. From semi-popular ones to ones I wasn't even really award existed... BAFTA, Critics Choice Awards, even the annual blog awards The Bloggies. So if you're into awards shows...whether it be to see who's wearing who, or to root for your favorites, you'll love Award Haven!

Business Language [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Here on my site, I have separated all the blogs in foreign languages into a different section. Why? Because I don't speak anything besides English! Well, if you think about that from a business perspective, it isn't very smart. I should be making a Spanish language version of this site and delving into that market as well, but I don't speak Spanish! That's where Saint George International - In-Company Language Training comes in. From this company you can learn a foreign language, but learn it with a business oriented goal. That is to say you won't necessarily learn all the normal words, but business words like "contract" and "company." Maybe this is just what I need to tap into the Hispanic Blog community...I wonder how you say bestest in Spanish?!

As a new teacher, I have a lot of Performance Reviews. Joking aside, the nun definitely knows what she is doing and is very helpful...but at the same time you get the sense she is rooting for you to do a good job. I've had other jobs where the boss was basically waiting for an excuse to bitch you out! I don't think this software will help me out very much (as I don't think I need the help). But hey, maybe it'll help you at your job. Give it a check out!

Contest! [-]
|
Ok, so here are the details for the contest I mentioned briefly yesterday. The winner will receive his or her choice of prize either: (1) $10 Premium Blog Credits OR (2) Double Premium Blog Credits on any donationSo, either $10 for free, or if you wanna donate $20 and have it doubled to $40, that is an option too. How to play...Hidden amongst the vast collection of blogs rotated by the Random Blog button is a new blog I just created. On that blog is a codeword. First one to email me (BobbyGriffin@gmail.com) with that codeword is the winner. So, you can literally earn $10 just by surfing random blogs like you always do! This blog might come up first, it might come up 500th...that's the fun of the randomness! All I can say about the contest blog is you'll know it when you see it. And don't try searching for it or anything. All the important words on the page, I typed up in an image and uploaded. That means that all the buzz words (i.e. bestest or premium) will not be found in any kind of search. Also, I did not use this Blogger account to create the blog, so it will not appear in my profile. Good luck and I hope you have fun!

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsSo I've written about moving to Turkey, and moving to Yemen...if you didn't dig any of those options than how about some Bulgaria property? Bulgaria is by no means a very large country...but it does have very diverse sections. For example, you could live on the beach at the Black Sea and go swimming or you could live in the mountains and partake in Bulgaria's great ski slopes. Bulgaria was recently accepted into the European Union (EU), which is a pretty big deal. Now you can use the Euro there and travel more easily in and out of other countries in the union.

100+ Updates again! [-]
|
I made a post with a similar title yesterday, only difference is it had a question mark on the end. Yep, it's true, I exchanged links with over 100 blogs again this week. 112 to be exact...just short of last week's record of 115. That makes 227 links in 2007 so far...extrapolate that to 12 months and it works out to 5448 links! Yikes! Check them all out in the Recent Additions. Another noteworthy event is that I eclipsed $3000 total in donations...I'm up to $3,018.00! Thanks to the 140 of you who have made a donation (by the way, that works out to $21.56 per person!). I don't think I've heard a single complaint about wasted money...the only complaints I've heard is people saying they wish they could afford to donate more because the traffic is so awesome! If you'd like to join these 140 bloggers in getting a ton of extra traffic, click here to read all the details!

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsUSAEyes.org is a great resource for anyone considering Lasik surgery. What this site is is a compendium of certified Lasik surgeons who meet their requirements. You can use this site to find a trusted and esteemed doctor local to you! MORE IMPORTANTLY!!! You can talk with others who have gone through the process on the site's bulletin board!! Recently, my eyes have not been as good as they used to be...I suppose this is to be expected as one gets older. But come on genes, I'm only 23! When my eye sight gets bad enough, contacts will not be an option. It's either glasses (if they're only for reading or driving, you know part time)...or it's Lasik surgery. And then USAEyes.org can try and help me find a good doctor and discuss the possibility's on THEIR KICK-BUTT NEW AWESOME BULLETIN BOARD!

Doctor Anonymous...a review by Morgen from "It's a Blog Eat Blog World" For my first Morgen Monday, I select Doctor Anonymous as Bestest Blog Of The Day for Monday, September 11. An infamous day for all of us. Best summed up with the words of the song quoted on Dr. A's Friday post (which was also his 100th post -- Congrats, Dr. A!). He was on call this past weekend, and I hope this honor picks up his spirits as he begins a new week of doctorly duties. Dr. A is not only a doctor, he's also a funny guy who is a Blogaholic. He's self-described as "just a guy trying to find the humor in medicine and humor in life while dealing with the daily grind of the American health care system." His site is the "Unofficial Bloggers Anonymous" headquarters. Like most of us, he has reflected upon the frequency of his postings, what it means to Blog, and about the interaction he has with his commenters. In Dr. A's own words: "Blogging is like being at the podium and to get people to listen to you, your thoughts have to be pretty well developed, or people will walk away. The good blogs that I've run into make me think a little bit and make me post a comment. The interaction with people (conversation like interactions) take place in the comment area. The blog is kind of like the lecture and the comments are like the Q&A." I love this quote. Written like a true Blogaholic! So raise a bottle of Woodchuck Cider to Dr. Anonymous today, and tell him that Morgen and Bestest Blog sent ya!

I remember hearing commercials saying that if your bra doesn't fit right, it can cause all types of problems (sore back, tenderness, etc.)...not that I would know personally. I don't think you can buy these sizes in any old department store. So, if your back hurts and you don't know why, maybe check out this website.

How Much I've Made [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsSo, Pay Per Post is paying me to tell you how much I've been paid. Well, first things first, I'm being paid $10 simply to write this post. Being a math guy, I thought I'd compile all the relevant info into an easy to read list: Sign-up date: October 8th Days since sign-up: 97 PPP opportunities taken: 151 Opps per day: 1.35 Have been paid: $922.14 Pending payments: $326.52 Total payments: $1248.66 Money per post: $8.27 Money per day: $12.87 Money per week: $90.09 Money per month: $398.97 That's pretty good! I never saw all those numbers myself. It makes me like Pay Per Post even more. Now, I've made more than that in Premium Donations, but man I work really hard for those! Hahaha, doing PayPerPost is so simple compared to that. If I had kept a stop watch going and had recorded all the time it took me to make that $1248.66, I bet it would work out to a ridiculous amount per hour. Where as I'm not sure if I've even earned minimum wage from my donations. But that's ok, I love doing this blog! If you're tardy to the party, why not get started today? Click the link in my left sidebar and earn me some referral fees on your way to sign up to get paid to blog!

The following is a LoudLaunch advertisement...scroll down for more postsWell, this is my first attempt at trying LoudLaunch...a paid for blogging service similar to Pay Per Post. What is it about companies and their alliteration? I guess I shouldn't talk (Bestest Blog). Loud Launch helps bloggers get paid by matching them up with advertisers trying to promote their product or website. Advertisers with as little as $50 can log on and create a campaign to reach tons of bloggers! One difference from Pay Per Post (though I have heard PPP has this in the works) is that Bloggers are paid differently depending on the quality of their blog. For example, I was paid $10 for this post. Would you be paid that same $10? Maybe...maybe less...maybe more. I haven't found how they calculate a blog's rank...maybe it's not public info...I'll let you know if I find it.

Goji Berries [LL] [-]
|
The following is a LoudLaunch advertisement...scroll down for more postsI'll give you 2 guesses to figure out which continent Goji Berries come from...... Did you guess Asia? Well you're right! They definitely sound Asian, but to my knowledge there aren't many fruits that come from Asia. This one perhaps makes up for the lack of other fruits. Grown primarily in an area of Tibet, Goji Berries are thought by many to be very healthy. There are many health benefits of the Goji Berries, both scientifically proven and speculative. I'm not a big fruit eater, but I love me some juice. Goji Berry Juice has all the same advantages... I wonder if I can find that in my grocery store here in New Jersey. There is actually a large section of Asian foods in the super market, because there is a large contigent of an Asian population here (are you surprised? I live in Princeton, New Jersey...home of Princeton University). These tasty, little berries are considered by many to be one of the most nutritious foods known to man! I wonder how high pizza is on that list, because I love pizza! My current favorite fruit is the strawberry...but I'm not that wild about them, so its hold on that title is tenuous at best. I am very serious, if I can find these at the store this week, I will get them and write a follow up review!

100+ Updates again? [-]

Well, I just glanced at all the link exchange submissions for this week. I have received over 100 emails again, so there is a chance we could be up around 115 like last week again. Granted, many of these will end up being invalid (no link back, link broken, wrong URL, etc.), but depending on how many it could be over 100. Check back for the update this weekend (or I might procrastinate it to Monday since I have off from teaching for MLK Day).

Maine Stay Inn...a review by Jessie from "Who Are We" If you are taking a trip you might want to stay at the Maine Stay Inn because they happen to be the Bestest Blog of the Day! I am in a traveling mood and have been visiting quite a few travel blogs lately. I stumbled upon this one and fell in love! When I was a little girl I always swore that I was going to move to Maine when I grew up. I was fascinated by Maine. And now that I'm an adult I've visited 47 states and have yet to see Maine! This blog has reignited my passion for Maine and now I really have to go visit. If you are looking for things to do in Maine you can find some great ideas on this blog. I'm adding the Seashore Trolley Museum to my must visit list. And from the pictures on this blog I have determined that I must visit in the fall because it just looks beautiful! If you want to do some shopping they also have a list of great options in the area. From the number of galleries and shops listed I think you could stay busy for quite awhile. I hope you will take the time to visit the Maine Stay Inn. They have a beautiful and informative blog. When you stop by make sure to tell them that Jessie from Who Are We needs to book a room. And most importantly don't forget to tell them that you are traveling by via The Bestest Blog Of All Time.

Money Saving Advice [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsIt's funny. In the weeks before Christmas, all the commercials are like spend now, great deals, check out this exclusive offer! Then after Christmas it's all about, save money, do your taxes, etc. A lot of people max out their credit cards at Christmas...the balance of their current accounts near (or below!) zero. They lose sight of being able to pay for important things like home insurance and their mortgages. And before you know it, they get walloped at tax time and need to take out a secured loan to pay it off. I am proud to say I am NOT one of these people. I know Christmas is the giving season, but you have to be reasonable and spend within your means!

Web Advertising Price Calculator [PPP] [-]

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsThis is a pretty neat site: AdsBay Auctions, Buy and Sell your Ad Space. One of their coolest features is the link price calculator, which tells you based on your site's statistics, link positioning, and other factors how much you could expect to make a month from advertising. If I did 1 exclusive ad in a high profile location of my site, it says I should charge $100 per month. Well, I prefer the 100 links in prime positioning that I have now...thanks though! In any case, it's a cool feature to get an idea of your blog's advertising value (or any website for that matter, not just blogs!)

The Rhetorical Letter Writer When the Rhetorical Letter Writer first applied for my link exchange, his link to my site was broken. So, I informed him (like I do everyone else with broken links) and wondered if he would fix it (unlike a lot of bloggers who don't/can't). In the process of checking his site for my link, I fell in love with it and PRAYED that he would fix the link so I could write about him! The premise of the blog is that he writes hilarious rhetorical letters to various people. Sometimes I feel inadequate as a reviewer, because no matter what I write will pale in comparison to the actual site itself. So, instead what I often do is just pick out a couple of posts that I particularly enjoyed in hopes that you will enjoy them as well: - Dear Whoever Said, "Close Only Counts In Horseshoes and Hand Grenades"- Dear Rappers- Dear Burger King- Dear Jesus- Dear Brett "The Hitman" HartOk, I just started at the most recent posts and did my favorites and basically ended up doing 2/3 of the posts in the past month! There is a year of rhetorical letters waiting for us! I hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I do, this is definitely going into my regular visits!

Words That Flow~ Annelisa's Place ...a review by Guest Blogger Mimi Lenox of Mimi Writes Nestled in the countryside of East Sussex, Great Britain are magic words and children and monster rhymes, flowing brooks, crooked trees - a myriad of colors known as Annelisa. I have to tell you a secret. She is having a love affair. With the sky. An artist's soul, mother's heart. A poet. Passion for peace and all things lovely. Champion and advocate for cancer research (she bared her head recently in a shaving ceremony that was not for the fainthearted. You can see her Baring It All HERE) Then, in true Annelisa style, she wrote a whimsical lyric about her newfound beauty.
She can spin a tale with words and shape and sparkling vocabularly. That's for sure. But one thing captures her essence more than anything, in my humble opinion: her photographs. They're extraordinary. Annelisa seems to see things that aren't there. Or....are they? Her pictures move me. They capture my attention. They speak. They tell a story. She likes to wander through the nature trails in her corner of the world and share her findings with us. The trees want to talk, the brook sings, the wind blows. Annelisa knows how to capture a moment. Although it was difficult to choose a photo for this article (they're ALL beautiful), this sunrise shot taken on November 7, 2006 from the window of her home has always been favorite. She also has an award winning site called Heroines and Heroes, which is a celebration of friendship told in clever rhyme. It is thoughtful and selfless. Just like Annelisa. Please do yourself a favor and stop by to have a cup of java with this lovely lass. You'll find a few surprises lurking behind twisted bark, maybe see angel wings in her car windshield (really!) and before you know it, you will have spent more time than you intended gazing into the lens of her magic camera.Words That Flow from her pen and her insightful spirit are captivatingly unique. Lucky for us she chooses to share.I hope you'll tell her that Mimi Lenox and Bestest Blog sent you. Have a look!

Stock Market [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Sticking with the "winning the lottery" theme from the last post, one other thing I WOULDN'T do with my money is piss it away all at once. I would upgrade my lifestyle a bit, and then invest a bunch for retirement and college funds and rainy days, etc. The stock market amazes me, I really wish I had time to understand it more. Buy low, sell high, dividends, split stock, spread betting. Plus these days you don't have to trek into some financial firm, you can do it in your pajamas from your computer!

PixelProtector [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts I must say that on the whole I am pretty content with my current position in life. However, hypothetically if I were to win the lottery tomorrow, one of the things on the top of my list would be a big screen TV (once I moved into my new mansion of course). Neither me nor my family has ever owned a TV bigger than 25 inches. I am way into TV and movies and video games, and I would certainly make good use of it. Ok, so that's where today's sponsor comes in. PixelProtector - Screen Burn Removal and Dead Pixel Fixer. There is a greater risk of damaging larger TV's. Plus, repairing a TV is expensive. PixelProctector fixes screen burn, fixes dead pixels, helps you set your TV up to get the best picture, and has screensavers...makes sense...my TV screen is more expensive than my computer screen! So it protects and repairs. Now, I don't need this for my tiny TV, but I might someday. Heck, even if I win the lottery doesn't mean that I'm going to get careless and just let all my enw stuff get ruined! P.S. If anyone wants to send me some lottery tickets, I will gladly accept them! Especially powerball tickets, that's the big bucks we're talking about!

UK Phones [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Ok, anyone here in America is probably familiar with the car insurance company Progressive. The main idea behind Progressive is that they give you the quotes of several different companies so that you can find the best deal. Of course, you are a little suspicious because they want you to buy their insurance. When, the UK has a site where you can Compare Mobile Phones plans. And not just some of them, ALL OF THEM! Plus, this is the main purpose of the website, so you don't get the feeling that they're trying to trick you into purchasing a certain company's phone (i.e. their own!). This is a pretty cool site, I was glad I got to review it. Thanks for hooking us up Pay Per Post!

Blog That Mommy! Neila is a stay-at-home mother who says her job is the most rewarding, fulfilling, and frustrating job she's ever had. I love the reason she lists for why she started her blog: "Lack of adult interaction...practice talking to people older than age four." I challenge anyone to come up with a better reason to start a blog, haha! Here is an adorable picture of her kids from Halloween, and there are lots more where that came from! I absolutely love kids and can't help loving this blog. As you know, I am young (23), but am married and can without a doubt say that we will have kids someday. Whether it's by natural means, seeing a doctor, or adoption, there will be kids in our life. Who knows, maybe I'll still be running this blog then too! Maybe, my wife can join Neila in her webring of Blogging Mommies. There are a ton of adorable stories about her kids, like Halloween Costume Shopping and Pre School Open House. One other less-kid oriented feature Neila has is her "Thursday 13" where she does a list, 13 items long, of something about herself. This week was talents she possesses, last week was a really good one, her brutal addictions. So, please go and check out Neila's "Blog That Mommy!" an excellent site for anyone who has kids, plans to have kids, or just flat out loves kids (not in that way, you pervs). Tell her that Bobby and Bestest Blog sent ya!

Insurance [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Moving to New Jersey, one thing I was really afraid of was the cost of car insurance. Especially since this would be the first time off of my parent's insurance and being still under the age of 25. Luckily, I have been accident free, plus I think being married may have helped us out. My wife and I discussed it and we decided to only have 1 car to save money and that has worked out marvelously for us! Unfortunately, we still live in an apartment...but that means we don't need home insurance. This post sponsored by Insure121.

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Want to send your sweetie a funny and cute Valentine Cards? Jokeroo has a great selection of cards, that are fun to browse through even if you do not have a sweetie. Hallmark cards and such are expensive...some of them with fancy lace and stuff on the outside can cost as much as $5! Personally, I like to make my own cards and messages, but Jokeroo is a great back up in case of writer's block!

Another Photo Contest [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsPay Per Post is having another photo scavenger hunt contest! Be the first to collect all the picture pieces, put them together on your blog, and you could win $1000 cash! You do have to be a member of Pay Per Post, so click the button in the left sidebar if you're not already! The images were all taken with a new hp camera by Veronique (a member of the Pay Per Post team) on her trip to Europe. I bet she checked out HP.com for some Digital Photography Tips first. This is piece number 18 if you are here searching for pieces. If this is your first piece, try doing a google blog search for "hp camera" to find other puzzle pieces. Good luck everyone!

Stop Image Spam [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts I know you guys look to me as a frequent source and resource for Technology information, so as to not let you down here is a new one. Want to know a new trick that spammers are using? They send you an innocent looking email with a confusing subject that tricks you into opening it. Within the email, there is an image. Sounds innocent, but this image can do harm. For example, it could contain a virus, but most likely it will alert the spammers that your email address is valid and a great place to send more spam. That's right, opening a spam email can prompt more spam! We need to stop image spam, visit that site for more info!

Bestest Blog of the Day: 01/03/2007 [-]
|
The Profile Directory of Bloggers Did you like analogies when you were in school? Me neither...but I think it's the easiest way to describe this blog: Bestest Blog IS TO blogs AS Profile Direcotry IS TO profiles. Ok, that seemed slightly redundant. But Blogger Daniel Thompson tells us why profiles are important. Even though he has some 5 blogs...2 of which have his name right in the title...and all of which he uses "posted by Daniel Thompson" for each post...his profile page still comes up WAY higher in a Google search of his name. This is without any attempt to bolster the Page Ranking (PR) of his profile with links (the gold mine of page rank) as he has done with his blogs. So, imagine an old friend from high school is trying to find you over the internet to play catch up. He does a search for your name...say your Blogger profile comes up 12th and your blog comes up 35th (which are results comparable with Daniel's results). Now, you're already doing all you can to promote your blog, and it's probably doing okay for searches of different keywords. But, your Blogger profile is coming up so high because your name is the most important (and almost the only) content on the page. With a little profile promotion you could crack the top 10 and your old friend will find you lickety-split! That's where the Profile Directory for Bloggers comes in. You submit your profile the directory (which is nothing more than leave a comment saying "Hey, list my profile in your directory.") This site is brand new (only 6 days old) but already has 11 different profiles (including mine) and Daniel has some big plans for the future. So, head on over and submit your profile to the directory just like I've already done!

Dubai Property [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsA few days ago I reluctantly blogged about property in Turkey and actually had a pretty good response to it, so I thought today I'd less reluctantly blog about dubai properties. Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and second most famous probably to Abu Dhabi (which is really only so famous because that is where Garfield used to try and ship his all too adorable cousin Nermel). Any, I hear there is very nice weather and low taxes. Sounds good enough for me!

Bestest Blog of the Day: 01/02/2007 [-]
|
Coffee2Go
She's a beautiful blogger in every sense of the word. Sanni, from Germany, not only has a visually stunning presentation via her wildly popular site, Coffee2Go, she is simply stunning herself. If you've never been to Sanni's site, the first thing you'll notice is how meticulously she keeps house. Serving piping hot java and well-spun words, it's always a delightful stop for me. Today there are moving fireworks, adorable family photos, elves in the sidebar, Peace Globes spinning inside a rainbow, and a dancing pet pig. But she's not all about window dressing. There is substance and beauty here daily - fresh brewed by Sanni herself and doled out to her many blogger friends across the globe in heartfelt comments and support. That's what makes Sanni a special blogger and what makes her an A List Blogger.
It's also the Official Unofficial Site of Anonymous Coffaholics. Guilty as charged. That's why I spend so much time there! Who could resist Crazy Hip Blog Mamas ,Blogging Chicks and daily Homer Simpson moments?
A champion for peace, empathizer of those less fortunate, poet, wife, mother and beautiful soul......Sanni is a breath of fresh air in the blogosphere.
Take a trip to Germany and visit the warm vibes in her elaborately decorated house of coffee. Tell her Mimi and Bestest Blog sent you! She might just offer you a cup to go.

I do like free stuff though, and Dealking has a lot of cool offers where you can get a free phone without a contract (or so they claim at least, haha!). A Day in the Life...This pick comes to us from guest blogger Alessia from "Waiting, Wishing..." Please do support our guest bloggers and check out their blog as well as the winning blog. Side note, this choice is interesting since it is about a teacher...seems like one I would have picked anyway given my current state of mind :-) Interested in being a guest blogger? Click here to find out how!
If you like reading teaching anecdotes told with lots of humor, as well as other funny stories, A Day in the Life is the blog you need to read! (Or should I say, the garden you need to visit?) She is an excellent "gardener" (blogger), and as such, always has "fresh flowers" (recent posts). There's a new bloom nearly every day. It's a beautiful garden, I personally enjoy blogs with an interesting template, it highlights the content and makes you want to read more. Quilldancer teaches in a school as well as a Sunday-school class, and always has interesting stories to tell about the children, and even better, parents. The class pets vs. parent episode is hilarious. She also gets confused with employees in Walmart, with hilarious outcomes. She loves teaching, she loves her students, and her students love her, too. She asked them to "grade" her as a teacher, and the lowest grade she got on her report card was a B+. She also has a "Wordless Wednsday", where she posts funny pictures and videos. So if you haven't already, go to Quilldancer's Garden and if you like it, leave a "bouquet" (comment). Tell her that Bestest Blog and Alessia sent you!

Loans [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more postsI once loaned a friend a rather large sum of money (or at least it was at the time). Long story kinda short, we didn't set up any payment schedule or due date, and I felt weird asking him for the money, so it went a long time without either of us bringing it up. Finally, he did pay it back, but it pretty awkward having to ask him for it after all those months. Lesson of the story: don't loan or borrow money from friends! Use a trusted, reputable loan source...maybe even the sponsor of this ad Select Loans...a great source for loans, personal loans, and secured loans

Another week of updates complete [-]

Hey guys, just finished up with this week's updates. Not too bad considering it was the holidays and traffic in general was down a bit with people keeping a little bit busier than normal. 36 new blogs that can all be seen in the Recent Additions. At least one of them I am already sure I am going to give "Bestest Blog of the Day" to in the upcoming week. Also added a tab for the "Bestest Blog Carnival" in the left sidebar. An easy place to find current and previous carnivals and to see what's coming up. In you haven't read the major improvement I made about the Random Blog Button, then scroll down a couple posts and read it. It's a big deal and will greatly improve everyone's surfing! And finally, here are the premium blogs that fell out of the top 100 and therefore their link is off the sidebar. Sorry guys: This S#%t Drives Me Crazy!!!, Peanut, Peanut Butter...Jelly!, The Tome of Communism, A World of Bloggers, R2K

Herbal Supplements [PPP] [-]
|
The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts Have you ever tried an herbal supplement (perhaps it was from Herbalife International)? They can be a great tool when used properly. Notice the word supplement...you should never use these IN PLACE OF a visit to your doctor, prescribed medication, or perhaps an out-patient surgery. Then it can be dangerous and jeopardize your life. However, used in addition to these things you can feel a lot healthy then you would have otherwise.

meloncutter musingsAnother guest blogger today! Why? Two reasons: (1) Our guest blogger, "The Thinker" from "Theory of Thought" sent me a review without setting up a date first. And rather than add her to the end of the line (late September) and have the review get stale, I decided to post it now. (2) I am crazy busy and semi-stressed out with my first ever week of teaching. I'm sure things will settle down soon! Interested in being a guest blogger? Click here to find out how!
He's absolutely hilarious. He has an obsession with flatulence. He's about to make his 200th entry into his blog. Why he hasn't won the Bestest Blog of the Day Award yet escapes me. Who is he? Meloncutter from Meloncutter Musings, of course! I don't know of any other blogger who can turn the most profane and vulgar phrases we've become so used to into perfectly harmless sayings (that I will definitely start using). "KISS MY ASS. (alternative:) Please make smootchie smootchie noises down betwixt the bifurcated slabs of my gluteous maximus." Who else would teach us what is and isn't appropriate touching in the workplace? And who do we have to give us the weekly "That Really Chaps My Ass" (TRCMA) award where we get to laugh at all the things that annoy him to no end? The funniest thing I've read in ages has to have been his Flatulence Etiquette, a set of eight guidelines that (and I quote): "the youth of the world can use to get the maximum benefit from their flatulence". If anyone deserves to win Bestest Blog of the Day, it's him. If anything, he should be receiving an apology for not becoming Bestest Blog of the Day sooner. Nothing I could say to describe his blog would do it justice, so you'll just have to go read it for yourself. Tell him that Bestest Blog (and The Thinker) sent you his way!

PPP Merger [PPP] [-]

The following is a PayPerPost advertisement...scroll down for more posts So, Pay Per Post (the super company that I use to make money on my blog here) has bought out another popular "money making on blogs" site Performancing dot com. I tried to use Performancing a while back, but was not impressed. Let me tell you why. Performancing relies on advertisers to specifically select your blog to run their ad on....as opposed to Pay Per Post where you pick the ads to run on your blog (assuming you pick the specifications of the advertisers). Well, no one seemed to want to run any ads on my blog, so I didn't make any money!! Oh well... Now many Pay Per Post will fix it up and make it more worth while. I'll have to keep tabs on what kind of changes they make and report back from time to time. Let's just hope they don't call it Pay Per Post Performing--PPPP! Too many P's! By the way, Pay Per Post, if you wanna buy out my blog...I may budge if the price is right!
